I'm a full time rv'er, I'm on SSI & VA disability, to poor to live like most people. Not complaining at all,in fact I've learned to love the minimalist life style, simplicity! My problem is my heater went out and I removed it, I now use electric space heat, it works great. The problem is when I removed the heater my ac stopped working, were they some how connected, if so what do I do now? Can someone educate me, I would be most grateful.

Can you provide details of your RV? Does the thermostat still have power (assuming it's digital but don't know how old the RV is)?

My rv is a 2002 Fleetwood, Terry Dakota Ultralight, model 725H. I would like to rewire the thermostat from the ceiling plenum to a new location. Thermostat was working before I removed the heater.

The AC unit is a Coleman Mach 8330-733.

This is a Grand Design forum, and while the functioning parts may be similar, you may have better luck with a Fleetwood forum, where very similar, if not exact, models can be found.

The motorhomes I've owned were older models than yours. But in those cases the thermostat received its 12V signal from the furnace, not the A/C like most newer units. If you left the wiring in place when you removed the furnace, you may find there are 3 or 4 wires. One should be Red (12V+), and one or two might be Blue. Connect the red wire to one of the blue wires and see if that fixes your issue. You might have to test both the blue wires to determine which one it is. Neither should result in a blown fuse or anything. It should just send the proper signal to your thermostat so you can use the A/C again. The other option would be to run a new 12V supply wire to your thermostat from another 12V source. But easier to just connect those two wires if you left it in place. Good luck! Oh, and if there is a yellow wire, just ignore it...

Thanks Riverbug, As a matter of fact the wiring is still there. I'll give it a try next week & let you know. Thanks so much

This is a Grand Design trailer forum. You’ll probably have better luck on a Fleetwood forum.
