Ideas for Open Shelves

My wife and I were fortunate to come across a used (4 months) 2014 Solitude 368RD a couple of weeks ago in Orlando. I had never heard of Grand Design but thank goodness for computers I was able to do some reasonable research and with few exceptions everything I found was very positive. The quality and workmanship of the coach is evident. (It was traded be cause the wife didn't care for the floor plan)

A question I have is reference the open shelves in bedroom closet. When traveling I would think folded clothes or baskets containing clothes may fall from the shelves. What has your experience been? Are there creative ideas to prevent that from occurring?

Thanks........

Mike and Deenie

Hiya Mike and Deenie, and welcome to the forums!
I use baskets on the shelves of our Solitude's bedroom closet area, and they do not fall off.
I also put shoes on the bottom shelf, and they stay put too!

If you're concerned about the baskets on the shelf, you can use Velcro.

I too use a type of basket on the shelves and haven't had an issue. They are made of canvas from Walmaart and they stay on well!!

By the way--welcome to or Grand Design family!!

Thanks so much for giving Deb even more ways to add weight to the front of the trailer :) :) to say nothing of an excuse to go shopping for more freakin' baskets :)

OH Paul!!! Come on now!! Do you want me to post a pic of the dressing table my hubs put in for me? That should really get her excited!!!
LOL!!!

LOL Poppy! Tell her to hit a TJ Maxx...the baskets are of higher quality and they have such neat patterns and colors. And best of all, the prices are just as good as Walmart's :)

Congrats Mike and Deenie on your Solitude! We too have not had any issues with anything falling from shelves, in fact we haven't had anything move anywhere in camper in 10 trips and almost 4,000 miles. Much nicer than our old TT.
Are you in Orlando or somewhere else in central FL?

Thanks to all for the welcome and replies. While I was working yesterday Deenie took the opportunity to purchase all the baskets and pillows available in Orlando.

We had a 30' Heartland TT and were not in the market for anything. However, we made the fateful decision to go to the Tampa RV Show a couple of weeks ago. Then we stopped at LaMesa RV near Orlando and saw the Solitude 368 on the lot. We liked it better than anything in our price range at the show. Somebody else took the hit buying it brand new a few months earlier and we benifited from that.

We look forward to years of enjoyment in this beautiful coach.

Thanks............. Mike and Deenie

Welcome to the forum Mike and Deenie and congratulations on your (new to you) Solitude! I have to agree with everyone else, in the 2 years we have had our 369, nothing has fallen off the shelves in the closet (shoes, t-shirts, sweat shirts, shorts).

Deenie and I have had our coach out 5 times since buying it in January for 3-4 night trips. You guys were right. The Solitude is so stable nothing falls or shifts. We couldn't be happier with this RV. So far we haven't had any problems, everything works fine.

(For those of you in central Florida we have been to Lake Monroe Park on the St. Johns river near Sanford, Wekiva Springs State Park in Longwood and Wickham Park near Melbourne. This weeekend we are going to Long Point Park at Sebastin Inlet south of Melbourne. It is an island on the intercoastal waterway (Indian River). Each campsite backs up to the water)
