The new shower door is a nice and much needed improvement. I do feel that those of us that would like to purchase one should get a price break. My 2800BH is only 3 months old.
Your thoughts?

Hi Steven and Linda (@Steven),

My understanding is that you can install the new shower door in your Imagine 2800BH; however, there would be screw holes to repair in the ceiling and both walls from removing the curtain. We do not sell parts retail direct; however, if this is of interest please contact your dealer for aftermarket parts ordering and service assistance.

Best regards,
~ Janice

Thank you Janice. Do you think the plastic rivets would cover the holes? Or do you all have something better? A small push in insert or something? And is the shower curved at the top like the curtain?

I have been looking at the 2150 and 2600 model and the new retractable shower curtain is not curved at the top like the old regular curtain.
(I would not refer to it as a door. It is a retractable curtain.)

Hey Steven. If you find one that fits let me know. I would really appreciate it and be interested. I want to buy a new imagine but retractable shower curtain is a deal breaker with wife. Right now she is interested a coachman freedom express 24se or polamino solarie. Both come in weighing about the same as imagine 2600rb but have full enclosed showers with real doors. Honestly, I think I need to give up trying to convince her that the retractable curtain won't get moldy and eventually break. Lol.

Will do. I don't know about the other campers but the Imagine is very solid. Walk on roof, Schwintek slide, and several other nice Lippert components. I would compare them closely before buying. If she insists on a glass door the opening is 36x60 which is pretty standard door that would hinge open. The one I'm looking at is not glass but a very heavy vinyl that's clear. I'll keep you posted. And check things like R values on them all too. It's a very nice TT.

I'm talking to an after market supplier and hope to het one ordered thats curved at the top.

Hi Steven and Linda (@Steven),

You may want to touch base with your Dealer's Service professionals to discuss your repair parts questions. In addition, you may also want to check the various options/sizes/colors available for sale at your local stores that carry home repair items.

The currently-built Imagine 2150RB, 2800BH, and 2600RB travel trailer models have straight shower doors.

Best regards,
~ Janice

Hi @Gstepp22,

Please send me a PM (private message) with your name and phone number, and I would be happy to have one of our Imagine Sales team members contact you and your wife to discuss your concerns.

Best regards,
~ Janice

I tell you one thing. Grand design does care about its product. They called me right away today to address any concerns I had with the retractable sheet curtain.
I did ask about mold concern and was told that the sheet had a micro bacterial finish. Any water on the sheet would get squeezed by a rubber when retracted. As far as durability, if it breaks it would be covered by the almost a year warranty. However after that it has no warranty. This is a contradiction from a post I saw from a user that said it was covered for five years. I am believing grand design rep over that other user. I also asked if they knew replacement cost if I did happen to break it and needed to replace it on my own. This cost was not known. Probably would need to ask that to the dealer and not grand design sales rep.
Rep did say that they saved around 40 pounds in weight by going with a flimsy plastic sheet rather than a solid plastic door. So not only is grand design concerned about keeping weight down, he also said that they felt the look of the retractable sheet was more in line with the style than a solid door. That seems right, as they went with pocket sliding doors throughout trailer too.
All in all I suppose the imagine bathrooms are larger than the competition albeit I still would rather a solid shower door even if it meant a few extra pounds.
Thanks again grand design for addressing my concerns. I maybe one step closer to making the purchase on a new 2600.

Awesome. Hope things work out for you. Don't know where you are buying at. I went to Canton Ohio for mine. Saved some money and had a great trip with my daughter.

FWIW, Winnebago has been using retractable shower screens on several of their motorhomes for years....

I had replaced a shower curtain in a trailer I had 11 years ago, and it worked great for the 4 years we owned it.

My new 2250RK has a retractable shower door/curtain and so far I am not impressed. For whatever reason, it will not completely retract and I have to "push" the last 8 inches of the door to get it to completely retract. I did not get any manufacturer owners manual so not sure if there are any tension adjustments that can be made. Curious if anyone else has had similar issues with the door, I'm thinking the one I have is defective so I am going to request a replacement. Coop

hi i have 2800bh with retracable shower door that broke!! the rivet came out of wall that held in end cap that holds in shower track rod. pure garbage design!!! they added screw now to hold it together for newer models so they know theres issues but dont do recall on this sad very sad situation. my wife questioned design when we were looking at it she was right

My old Jayco fifth had a glass shower door - and the door swing meant it was harder to work around when using the space. The door naturally blocks some part of the bathroom when exiting the shower. If there was water on the door, it naturally dripped on the floor when opening. And one had to make sure it was securely latched before breaking camp.
The side roll up "shade" for the door in the Imagine eliminates those issues. It did start to stick and not retract fully when we first got the trailer, but it was a 2 min. fix at the dealer. In the year since, it has been trouble free. Comparing the two, I much prefer the roll up to a "real" door.

The Nautilus retractable shower door on our 2018 Imagine 2800BH has been the source of much frustration as well. From the start we've had trouble getting it to stay closed - flying open multiple times in the middle of a shower. The dealer was supposed to adjust it while we had our trailer in the shop for some other warranty repair work, but I'm not sure that they actually did anything. This weekend is only our 4th camping trip in our new trailer, and now the inside face of the retractor side has popped open, and also the screw came loose from one end of the top rail. Our experience says that this is a horrible design for a shower door. Now I'm debating whether to ask the factory for a replacement retractable shower door, or whether to just go ahead and replace it with a different type of door that will actually function correctly. Has anyone else had luck replacing the retractable shower door with a different type of door?

Off subject a little, but has anyone noticed water running under track at bottom of shower door. There is a lip on shower pan just outside track that prevents water from getting on floor of camper but have notice water coming from under track at bottom.

shower track door is garbage mine broke the rivet in the wall that holds end cap is junk ripped out been messing with it ever since. poor design

had same issue tried fixing myself rivet in wall that holds end cap to wall ripped out, my wife was right when we bought she pointed out possible problem, probaly go by 40" rod and curtain

I am having the same issue. Second trip out and can’t keep the door shut for an entire shower.

I am not sure the back panel was ever closed but I did notice this trip that it is open and does not snap closed. Is this just an adjustment or do I need to take it in for warranty?

Did you get yours fixed?
