Imagine TT Solar Install

I'm about to leave on a 1 month road trip in my 2650RK and I'd like to install a very simple 200w(ish) solar setup before I leave. I plan to use the factory battery location but replace the stock battery with 2x 125 amp hour marine batteries and install the charge controller in the pass-thru storage bay.

Has anyone spotted a good place to route cables down from the roof?

Is the TV that comes with the unit LED, or LCD? (If its LED it could probably be run off the batteries for a few hours with a small inverter...)

I was originally going to purchase the portable solar system that plugs into the pre-wired Furrion port, but for a similar price I can install a much more powerful system that can run 24/7 without being a hassle or an easy target for thieves.

Please share your thoughts!

Good morning Colby. The bedroom of your 2650RK and my Reflection 297RSTS have the same layout. And our solar needs are about the same. I ran three panels on the roof to three RV/Marine batteries. I ran the wiring through the roof and came in the bedroom closet that is by the foot of the bed. From there, I went down behind some drawers that were under the closet and out through the floor. Then I routed the wires forward along the frame and came back up into the basement storage where I made the hookups with my controller. Then I routed the wires through the floor and out to the batteries. It was a clean install and you don't see any wires exposed in the bedroom this way except at the back of the closet.

To enter the roof, I used what is called a Solar Gland which will prevent water intrusion. I have a lot of details in a thread I posted and you're welcome to clone what ever you want. In that thread, you can see my initial two panel install, and then you can see where I added another panel, battery and inverter later on. If you have specific questions on parts selection or my approach, shoot me a PM or follow up here or on the linked thread and I'll be glad to help.

I looked at solar for our 2650. I figured the easiest way will be to run the wires through the roof into the closet at the head of the bed, then down into the pass-through. The controller would be mounted on the wall to the right of the hookup center. Battery wires could either go through the floor (need to drop the belly pan) or through the mouse-hole for the hookup center.
Actually, I have an IOTA-55 deck mount converter mounted in that spot. 6ga welding cable goes through the mouse hole, under the frame rail, and to the 2 G29 12V batteries on the tongue. GD was nice enough to put a 115V outlet in the hookup center.

If the front of your 2650 cap is the same as my 297 going though the closet you mention looked to be a problem. After some precise measuring, it looked like I'd be penetrating the roof right at the seam of the roofing material and the front cap. It may not be a problem, but I didn't want to chance it.
