Will be buying and installing a new TV in the living room and concerned about the pivoting wall bracket. May need to move it up or down. Does it screw into a plate behind the wall, or does it screw into metal studs ? If it is a plate, how big is it or how far up does it go ? I tried feeling with a magnet and couldn't feel anything. Or .... are all these TV's standard and I won't have to move the bracket no matter what TV brand I buy ?

Not familiar with 337RLS, but our 295RL's tv mounted in a open space in the entertainment cabinet. We decided to replace the factory cheapo 40' TCL with a 43' TCL Smart TV. Both used the same VESA mount, but, the new TV needed the mount set higher due to the placement of the mount on the TV. Ended up moving the mount 2" higher (to center TV in openning) from original mount on cabinet open space wall without any issues.

Jim and Annette - Thanks for the reply - Did you just drill holes in the wall for four mounting screws to tap into, or were there threaded female expansion type bushings that you used for more strength ?

We just used wood screws large enough to sustain the holes in the VESA, which one could basically re-use the ones GD placed in tbe original.

Another idea, if worried about having adequate factory backing/bracing to remount the VESA, would be to use a (1/4"?) sacrificial facia mounting board large enough to cover the original holes and yet give enough height to also re-mount the VESA in the correct location for centering the new TV. This method may also increase mounting strength for a heavier TV as well.

This new board could then be match stained to be less noticeable between the VESA and cabinet.

Note: Could get a decent stud finder to validate any mounting surface support prior to making any mounting decisions.
