Interior and Exterior Speaker size?

I have a 303 and would like to know if anyone can provide the speaker size for the interior ceiling and the exterior speakers found on the wall outside next to the bedroom window?

Thank you in advance!

Joe

The insides measure 6 1/8, I just replaced with 6 1/2 speakers. Had to drill new mounting wholes, they fit with no problem.

The outsides on my 303 are in the awning, I have not ventured into them as of yet

Thank you! which speakers did you go with and did you notice an improvement?

Joe

I put the JBL GTO 638 speakers in our 369RL. Like what Chuck encountered, it's a HUGE difference. I am still debating on replacing the head unit with either a real stereo and an inverter or a dual din car stereo and an amp. I will be replacing the outside speakers soon, but I haven't pulled them to see what they are yet.

The stock speakers are 'functional', but not adequate. The magnets are small, there are no tweeters or mids, and the woofers are paper. Nothing against paper cones - my Boston Acousic A200's have them, but for 6.5 inch speakers, you want something more rigid to get the bass out of them.
Thanks
Ct..

In the 369RL was there any cutting or did they fit right in? Did you do all the ones inside, bedroom too?

Mine is a 337. The JBL 6.5" fits perfectly, no cutting required. Had to use longer #6 wood screws to accomodate the deeper JBL grills. I only did the living room for now. We don't use the bedroom ones that often but will likely change them out eventually.

I was looking to replace the outside speakers but the issue is that they are very shallow mount. Haven't really found a good shallow mount speaker.

If you look for speakers where the speaker grill presses on as opposed to being attached by screws you should be able to retain the white factory grill. In my case the Mrs was not going for black grills on the ceiling, I lucked out and already had the infinity 6502's in the garage where the white grills fit.

Paul,

There are speakers for newer cars that have a shallow mount, if you have the size and depth I suspect that a place like Crutchfield.com would be able to provide guidance. I have spoken to them in the past for help which worked out nicely.

Well here's a scenario where the newer models have less! Our recent build 337 does not have speakers in the B/R. I kind of miss that from our last trailer. Also, our outside speakers are in the awning heads. I wonder if there is any kind of upgrade that can be done with those. They are really poor quality.

Saying the speakers in the awning are not very good quality is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
If anybody has come up with some replacement ideas please post them.
Would sure like to use them but with the bad quality we do not even turn them on.

Poppy, does your Furrion dvd player have 3 speaker zones or just 2? Just wondering if they forgot your broom speakers or if this was a design change?

It has 3 zones, the main area near the rear of the trailer, bedroom & outside in the awning.

Just has 2 zones. I really don't care to be honest but I just marvel at how it seems the trailers seem to get whatever is around at the time of the build. No wonder every question is followed up with a request for the trailer's VIN. Every one of them has something different it them. Kind of makes you wonder.
