Friday morning we moved from Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State park in Wildwood, MO to 370 Lakeside Park, Saint Peters, MO, less than an hour drive. While Jo Ann was checking us in I went back into the trailer and opened the refrigerator. No lights. To me, that means that the inverter isn't supplying sufficient power for the refrigerator. We had the family over, and then the two grandsons spent last night with us, so I haven't had time to poke around. We're here in this spot until Friday, then we move to another spot in the same park. If I don't find the problem before then, I'll be sure to check the refrigerator after unplugging from shore power but before plugging into the truck, and then again after plugging into the truck.

I suspect that in spite of all the dealer said, my batteries are not working as they should. For the past couple of days the meter has shown 91.9% charged. I have the PD 9160 (think that's the right number) Lithium-only converter/charger.

Once again I think I'll disconnect both batteries and tape the cable ends. I bolt the cables back together, so that shore power (50A) and solar is powering everything. The plan is to disconnect the batteries and leave them alone for a couple of hours, then put a meter on them and see what I see. The batteries are Lion Energy Safari UT 1300 12V 105 AH batteries. There is a button on the top that, when pressed, lights up a series of lights to give a rough idea of the state of charge. Pushing and holding that button is supposed to reset the battery. My brother-in-law is a retired battery manufacturer tech, and once before he was able to push and hold that button and reset the batteries after I had tried it several times without success. Unfortunately he is several hundred miles away and he says his arm isn't long enough to reach.

Any other suggestions?

Beautiful weather today, grandkids are back in school and their parents back at work, so time to poke around a bit.

I disconnected both batteries this morning and am checking them every half hour or so. Curb-side battery was at 13.50 and 30 minutes later was at 13.49 volts. Street-side battery has stayed at 13.27 volts. I'll keep checking and see what happens.

If those readings hold, that says the street-side battery is around 90% and the other one at about 80% if I'm reading the charts correctly. Should I try discharging the batteries somehow? If so, how? I could maybe go get a sealed beam headlight and let it run for an hour or so and pull the battery down that way. Other ideas?

I attached a FAQ for your batteries that is a wealth of knowledge.

Why not just connect your batteries to the trailer, disconnect shore power and drain the batteries to ~50%. Then reconnect shore power and let the converter charge the batteries?
Are you sure your converter is set up for Lithium? If not the lead/acid charger will charge the batteries to at least 80%. Kind of what you are seeing. That's why I'm questioning your charger settings.
What type of refrigerator do you have?
What power source is it running on?
Did you verify proper power to the refrigerator.
Is your inverter working?
I'm not sure why you are chasing a battery issue. You have sufficient voltage to power the fridge using an inverter.
Once your fridge issues is corrected, then recommend looking at the potential battery charging issue.

I have a Progressive Dynamics PD9160ALV, which is a lithium charger. Temps are such that I have the a/c off, windows open, and lots of lights, fans, and inverter on. The refrigerator is ON, so it looks like things are working properly. The batteries are getting a bit of a charge from the solar, but since it is cloudy, that isn't a lot.

The battery gauge showed 92.0% when I disconnected everything, and was also at 92.0% when I reconnected everything, but with the shore power off. It has dropped to 90.7% in about 10 minutes. I'm going to let it go until I hit one of the following points: Jo Ann needs the shore power back to cook supper, the lights start flickering and the refrigerator goes off, the gauge shows less than 50%.

Well, all works as it is supposed to. The battery meter was at 92.0% when I started, and it got down to 87.9% before I had to turn the power back on. I hate these intermittent problems...
