I installed a Renogy 2000 inverter with automatic transfer switch using the orange inverter prep wiring. 500 watts of solar and 280 ah of battery. I thought this would power the microwave. I have power to the 120 outlets and the tv from the inverter but no microwave. I thought the microwave was on the same side of the buss bar as the outlets and tv with the ac being on the other side. What am I missing?

I can say my inverter prep works as you described and we use the microwave all the time on batteries and the inverter. Are you sure the breaker did not get tripped?

Breaker is on. Flipped them all just to double check.

It depends on which circuits are included with inverter prep. My 21G only had 1/2 of the outlets on inverter prep. Had to move other 1/2 of outlets circuit and microwave circuit to the inverter sub panel. Your battery ah should plenty to run microwave.
I also had to increase my inverter prep wire gauge to 12/2 from the 14/2 factory wire for microwave.
Here is a Pic of the inverter sub panel next to main power panel.
Not sure if yours is wired like this, hope it helps you.

Did you by chance have the 2 prep wires flipped? You may have to switch the 2 prep wires on the inverter. Also, make sure you turn off the converter breaker when you're running on just the inverter.

In our 2024 Imagine 23LDE, the microwave breaker is on the shore power side of the ATS circuit, so I had the same situation as you. When running on the inverter, no power to the microwave.

I had an unused breaker labeled “Refer Prep” on the inverter side of the panel, so I moved the microwave wire to that breaker. Now the microwave will run off the inverter as well as shore power.

Yep, that’s what I will do as well
