Thinking about using these during long term storage to take weight off my tires, has anybody tried it?

Thanks,

Hi John,

This is an interesting idea. How high would you have to lift the frame, to get the tires clear of the ground ?
What about making axle saddles for the tops of these jacks and lifting on the axles between the U bolts ? 2" of lift here, will get the tires clear of the ground. This is where I lift (with a hydraulic jack) for brake adjustment, etc.

Hey Rob - Yes I was surprised these jacks had that much capacity.
Not sure how high I would have to go raise tires off the ground, I was thinking just take some or most of the pressure off the tires. Concerned if I lifted too high, rig would be unstable, especially in windy conditions.
If I jacked under the axles, I would need 3 jacks, whereas if I lifted under the frame. I would only need 2.
Does that make sense?

Thanks,

John

I was thinking of four of these jacks (maybe smaller ones ?) . . . one under each axle end. This could lift the tires off the ground without lifting the trailer more than 2".

Sounds good, I may just try that.

Thanks,

John
