We dropped our 2 month old 337RLS off @ Four Seasons RV in Abilene KS this AM, just as Jerry @ GD Corporate advised us to do last week when our troubles hit bottom, literally!!! Service Mfr @ 4 Seasons told us that ours was not the 1st one that they have received & repaired when the black water tank dropped clear out to the ground, tearing the gray insulation fabric as the tank fell. Bad news was that this has happened before to GD owners while out enjoying trips to see USA. Good news was that this has previously happened to GD owners as they traveled to see the sights around the USA.
They told us they do know how to fix & we should have our much-loved 337 back home in time for our trip to take our 9 yr old grandson with us to MT Rushmore in 2 wks.....sure hope so!!!

This is very concerning. By any chance do you know the cause of the failure? I'm guessing the strap fasteners came loose. But that is a big guess. I'd sure hate to have that happen while driving down the freeway at 65mph.

I read either here or on the G.D. facebook site that the tanks are molded (or formed, if you will) with "tabs" that protrude outwards which make them kind of form fitting in between the frame rails on the RV. Apparently there are also a couple of nylon straps (like used for packaging) that surround the tanks and I presume are somehow attached to the RV. I question if it would be worth while to drop the underbellly and get some straight steel 1/4" and screw them into the frame rails thus support the tanks. It would seem that a tank, especially one that is filled and bouncing down our less then great highways, could easily break those nylon straps and those nubs on the tanks would not be enough to keep the tank from falling out.

Brenda, did you buy your 337 at Four Seasons? We bought ours there and were very impressed with the long list of work they do to prepare the RV for customer delivery. I don't know if that includes underbelly stuff in the area of the black tank, but I know they are very thorough. We've had no leaking problems at all. Love our 337 and hope you are soon on the road enjoying your beautiful 5th wheel.
