Just Finished My Disk Brake Install

So I finished up my current project today mounting the new wheels/tires.

So far I have replace the gas tank, all rubber fuel lines, fuel pump and rebuilt the carburetor due to rust in the tank clogging everything. Replaced the coil and converted to electronic ignition. Replaced the sway bar brackets, bushings and tie rod ends and had the front end aligned. Replaced the OEM radiator with a new aluminum unit. Converted the front drum brakes to disk. Replaced the wheels/tires.

I am having a modest stereo system installed next week. I still need to do some work on the front end. I think the steering box may need to be replaced or rebuilt. I also need to add an electric radiator fan and I need to put new shocks in.

Great Ride Poppy!

I am at Hot August nights in Reno visiting my son who is in college here. I keep sending pictures of SS Chevelles and a few 302 Boss Mustangs and Camaro’s to the wife and all I get is NO!!! Damn her ; )

The original plan was for us to make it there this year but the car just had/has too many gremlins :( My nephew is the Executive Director. He was a deputy Chief of Police for Reno before he retired a few years ago and took this position. It's a great event for sure. My sister just sent me video of her sitting in the front row for Jefferson Starship ad Eddie Money!

We hope to make it next year for sure.

Here I am making sure the car fits the enclosed trailer.

Should be here in MICH. Next weekend the Dream Cruise is going on. 12 miles of classic car's. 8 lanes full going by and classic cars parked all the way up and down the road. You can see close to everything that was ever built. Even saw a 1918 Harley Davidson one year.

I have always wanted to be there for that event! Definitely one of the best in the country.

This is my wife’s jeep that I work on. It’s a 1978 Jeep CJ7 with a fiberglass top, a Chevy short block and lots of other after market parts. It a fun grocery getter when the weather is deasent. The way to drive a Jeep is no doors and not much of a top. It’s fun to have a good winter project in Minnesota.
