Well, the family and I just got back from Tom Schaffer's in Shoemakerville PA and in 2 weeks, a 375RE will be coming home with us. Can't wait!

Will be our first 5er - we have had a travel trailer for 2 years but this is definitely a BIG investment in time and commitment!

I am pretty confident in most regards, but there is one thing that has me concerned, and that is GPS navigation with GOOD data on bridge height and propane restrictions - any suggestions? I am a high-tech sorta guy, so i have been looking for an Android app - any suggestions?

I also am looking for a good grill setup - I have one in an outdoor kitchen on the FR I have now, but there are no hookups for a grill or anything on the outside. I can't decide whether to add a propane line or just get a detached grill, mostly because I dont know what other options folks have had good experiences with.

Also, looking for any good suggestions - tips/suggestions/things to avoid at all costs?

Thanks!

Bob

Congrats, and I'm glad Keith could take care of you.

Don't know how I missed you guys, but it was a very hectic day.

Steve,

Thanks! Yesterday was a total zoo! Sorry we didnt catch each other, but you guys are great! Thought my last dealer was good, but you guys are awesome - can't wait for the delivery, already scoping out a good place for the maiden voyage!

Bob, congrats and welcome to the family! Good choice, I love that floor plan.
Not a tech guy, so can't help with that question. We have the Roadtrip grill and are not real happy with it. Flame seems to be to close to grill, even on low it burns food easy. Another thread on here about grills, seems like a lot of people like the WeberQ grills. I think thats what we will try next.
Enjoy your new rig!

Hello Bob,

Congrats and welcome. We're newbies as well. We haven't found an ap for bridge height, we do use the "my pilot" ap to find gas stations we can use. I hadn't even thought of that, so will start looking. I'll let you know if we find something.

Good to know about the rosdtrip grill, I was actually just going for that one and will choose more wisely.

We run with the Garmin RV760 nav system, but cross reference it with Good Sam's directions.
Most of the time they agree . . . But when they don't . . . we have learned to follow Good Sam's.
Before that, the Garmin (in RV mode) led us into some tight situations.

Hello Bob,

We are newbies to the 5er world and Grand Design as well. After 8yrs in a Class A it was time for a change so we also purchased the 375RE from Mike Thompson`s RV in So. Calif. and are waiting delivery. Can't help with the tech inquiry but I've been using a WeberQ for many years and it does a great job from the mountains to the sea. The only hint you'll need is to keep the screen inside the fuel rail clean to prevent low flame/heat issues.

I hope we both enjoy our new purchases this summer..

Welcome and Congrats Bob!
You bought from a great dealer! Enjoy the new RV!

Welcome to the GD family and to our little slice of sanity in cyber space. Haven't had any issues with bridge heights, but don't head to PA and the back roads that often. Tunnels are a pain because of the propane around here. Turn off and turn on has become the routine.
