We took delivery of our 2020 311BHS last Saturday! We are experienced RV'ers and have been burned in the past with the "slap it together and get it out the door quickly workmanship" that we've all experienced. So this time I tried to do as much research as possible trying to find a brand that had decent quality and kept coming to GD. We were very worried about what the quality would be now that GD was purchased. I am HAPPY to report that we were very pleased with our delivery and PDI walk through! i'm not sure how much of the credit goes to GD or to our dealer and Awesome sales person! I downloaded one of the many PDI check list found on this forum and gave our sales lady a heads up a few days ahead of time that I had a check list to go thru because we've been burned too many times. Our sales lady was very understanding and she explained to me that they do their own PDI and detailing of each unit before they take the owner on a walk through, but to feel free to also do my own. We were asked to be there when they opened at 8:30 and to plan on being there for most of the day.

During the PDI our sales lady took the lead and it was like she had my check list, she hit each and every item and spent time checking and verifying and if something wasn't to our satisfaction she called a tech and had them fix it right then. We only found a few minor things that were addressed immediately. I don't now how much of this was GD or the dealers PDI/final detailing, but we never found any sawdust or construction debris. Not even behind drawers or after turning the A/C and heat on, there was nothing that blew out of the ducts.
VERY IMPRESSIVE and pleasantly surprised!!! I hope that GD and it's dealers can keep up the good quality and workmanship!

Welcome, and great that you had such a good experience. A lot depends on the dealer doing everything right up front to begin with. More depends on Grand Design doing their job in the beginning. They usually do. As with any production/assembly process their are issues sometime. Grand Design really comes through after the sale, when things happen. The very few minor issues we had (2 actually) were taken care of in more than a satisfactory manner by both the dealer and Grand Design. Happy Trails!

Thank you for your post, it is reassuring. New here also and we too just purchased a 2020 311 and will be taking delivery on 3-23. I will be sure to download a check list myself. I assume you can find it with a search? Thanks, Doug

Doug,
Yes just do a search for "PDI checklist". Remember to give your sales person a heads up a few days prior and plan on pretty much a full day. Take your time and ask questions. Good Luck! I can't wait to finally take our new rig out!
