When it comes to modern turbo diesels from GMC, Ford and RAM my thinking is the manufacturers spent many millions developing these engines which includes the air intake system. If someone makes a different filter which installs in an otherwise stock air box and claims it is better, I wonder how much they actually spent qualifying that claim. Then in some cases they recommend adding oil to the filter as part of its filtration process. For me it seems best to go with the OEM filter or at least an OEM specification filter.
