Wife and I are really in love with are new 303 despite the fresh water tank issue. My wife is 5' 4" and I am 6'2" how does everyone else run fan in kitchen, neither of us can reach it, should be totally remote controled!!

On the subject of installing Fantastic Fans I have a question. Does anyone know the weight limit for folks being on the Reflection roof? My husband is more than able to perform the task, but he's a large dude. Not sure he feels comfortable getting up there. The info is probably printed somewhere in the paperwork we have in our 337, but it's still sequestered in winter storage for a few more weeks.

I believe that there's a labelled weight limit on the access ladder of 300 lbs. It not unusual to have two or more on the roof when installing the A/C for example. I don't see that you have anything to worry about...I'm on our roof every time before I bring the slides in.

I climb up on my 303 and have not fallen thru yet. I weigh 230 but I don't
climb up on that ladder on the back. That thing looks like it could fall off at any time

Thanks for the responses... we may just order the gadget Jim mentions above and decide later on the fan. But it's good to know that hubby can do the work if we get one.

The most difficult part of replacing the OEM kitchen fan in a 303 with a remote controlled Maxx Fan w/Rain sensor is: getting the lap sealant off the roof ! :p

I figured out why the fan needs to be on this week. I was toasting my favorite Walmart french bread slices for breakfast, and the skillet was smoking slightly. The smoke detector at the top of the stairs started honking. The vent fan didn't take away the smoke by itself.

I'll engineer a way for my wife to open the vent from below.

Maybe dealership could suggest putting one in before you would take delivery? Appreciate the other suggestions! thanks!!

In process of buying a 313, pick it up day after Easter. One of the negotiated items was to replace the kitchen vent fan with a remote Fantastic Fan. Had that in prev TT and loved it. Will be there when we accept delivery.

I agree that a stronger fan with a remote opener should be standard. I'm 6'3" and can barely open the cover on my tiptoes. The least amount of smoke will set off the hall smoke detector as the stove hood is not strong enough to get all the smoke out.

Before we took delivery we had the dealer install a remote Fantastic in the kitchen with a Max Air cover so the vent is left open all the time, except when I am washing the roof. Afterward I wished I'd had one installed in the bedroom so I installed a manual one myself, also with a Max Air cover so we can leave it open if we like.

We went old school and bought one of the 3 step stool type ladders that you can buy most anywhere. We figured since we rarely cook inside and we could use the ladder for other reasons (cleaning ext. of windows/RV, reaching the top of hutch for any items we may store up there while camped, etc. it would be a good option. We simply keep it at the back end of the island pushed under the counter top overhang out of the way. It is narrow enough that the slides when retracted don't touch it and it does not move when traveling.
