Has anyone installed this device from KoolRV? https://koolrv.com/products/a-c-connect-coleman-mach-series
I like this approach & cost.
Leaves the plenum completely open and the return air uses to whole filter area (minus the connector).
Typically a larger plenium area helps with noise reduction.
Did some quick calculations between the ac fan outlet openning (square inches) as compared to the 2 discharge openning and there shouldn't be any restriction except for the turns. But that appears to be minimized also by the pictures. of the connector.
The only issue I see maybe is that it doesn't appear to be insulated.

I see what the differential temperture is accross the return and outlet and go from there.

I will be installing one by the end of the week and report back.

I haven't tried it but will be putting one in when we get home from our trip (Nov/Dec). I like the idea, it's a bit more professional than the self made diverter I installed and I like the price over the other brand (the styrofoam diverter). If it works then I'll do it one my other AC (the one I put my own diverter in).

Please let us know how it works out for you. Thanks!!

Be interested to know how this compares in performance to RV Airflow in noise reduction. That was installed in our main AC, but nothing in the bedroom AC. We haven't had any issues in cooling but would like to reduce noise a bit in bedroom.

I'm interested in this also. We only have the one AC as my wife didn't want one in the bedroom. This could improve the airflow to the bedroom at a better cost over the other foam one..

Same concept as RV Airflow, very similar design. More importantly half the price. Willing to bet this sparks up lots of interest.

We have RV Airflows in both ac units, but would have loved to have done that for half the cost.

Interested to see how it performs as well.

It looks like it would be easier to install than the RV Airflow. I had a heck of a time getting the bolts lined back up when installing the RV Airflow in the living room AC (didn't have the same problem in the bedroom). Will be interested to see how it works for you - thanks for posting.

THere are a couple of pretty interesting videos on youtube about this product. Seems very positive. One is actually installed on a Reflection, and show a comparison between RV Airflow, and Kool RV. KoolRV VS RV AirFLow

I have one in my rear garage AC, I have the other brand in the other 2 AC units. This one’s seems to work just as well but is way easier to install. I did need to modify the side ducts a bit to fill in the area. I sent them a suggestion on how to fix this issue and they advised they were trying to make one that fits better.

Overall I do like the design and simple installation.

I ordered and received the GE version of the KoolRV last week.
Haven’t had a chance to install yet, but will update later.

Really bad product page, I still can’t tell what it does. I’ve got two Coleman Mach units which already connect to the ceiling vents. How would this help?

It directs it into the ducts instead of first dumping it into the plenum
Makes it more efficient and quieter

Inquiring minds want to know!

This product looks very interesting. I hope its as easy to install as they say. Please keep us updated.

Please keep us updated.

Got it it installed this weekend. Very easy installtion which is a big plus in my book.

Overall I think it biggest plus is efficiency, by keeping the the return air from mixing with the AC air. (remember to adjust your air discharge vents direction to minimize to the return side) ended up with a 20 degree difference.
On first run I would say slightly quieter I used an app and the numbers were a tad bit lower in our living area and may be a bit better in the bedroom.

The next biggest plus is increasing the air filtration accross the whole filter. ( i'll upgrade to a better filter now.)
Could not measure air flow but it did feel like more.

Inside the plenum found small areas that were not tape well and may have been leaking back into ceiling.
Taping the new vents outlets to the ceiling duct system wasn't to to differcult but needed more tape.

The real test was in the bedroom while it felt better I wasn't impressed but I decided to remove the register to check and there was an issue.
The regester collar that sticks up into the duct was practically touching the top of the duct, may just a 1/2" gap as best.
I fashion a small standoff device accross the register to open the gap at least another 1-1/2" (which was about as much as it would deflect without causing any other issues)
Also the register wasn't sealed very well so there was leakage into the ceiling.
With that I will be checking out all the other registers.

I'm also considering trimming the register collar so it will be closer to flush with the bottom of the duct work. probably at least and 1" to be less restrictive.

After running the system for 2 days it did feel more comforable overall (south Louisiana in the the low 80's outside with lotsa humidity).

Don't know if it would help but maybe wrapping the new piece in some accoustic type insulation would deaden the sound more.

All in all vs. cost I think it is a no brainer.

The Kool RV product does the same thing as the RV Airflow. They have come up with a product that does neatly or the exact same thing at half the cost.

I love my RV Airflow product but I hate the price. If they can tackle the cost and installation they will sleigh RV Airflow, or at least force them to lower the price Their product works awesome, but it is essentially 3 pieces of foam glued together.
