KOOLRV Product

So glad I clicked the link in my email to this question. I was planning to spend the money on one RV Airflow for my living room, but I've now signed up to be notified when this product is available for the Furrion units that I have on my Imagine, and I'll get 2 due to the much better price. Install looks easier too. Thanks for asking so I could discover this product too!

The Kool RV product does the same thing as the RV Airflow. They have come up with a product that does neatly or the exact same thing at half the cost.

I love my RV Airflow product but I hate the price. If they can tackle the cost and installation they will sleigh RV Airflow, or at least force them to lower the price Their product works awesome, but it is essentially 3 pieces of foam glued together.

I would agree with my RV Airflow too. Mine was installed from the factory in my main AC unit in the family room and it rocks. There is WAY more air flow blowing through the coach with that device in place. When I turn on my bedroom unit with my main unit---the amount of air flow is incredible as compared to other campers that I've had in the past with one and two AC units. The units are way quieter too. I would highly recommend one of these two products be added if you don't have one. We are not adding one in the bedroom as we like the ability to use the manual air deflectors and change the air flow in the bedroom.

thanks for the heads up on this.

It looks like it would be easier to install than the RV Airflow. I had a heck of a time getting the bolts lined back up when installing the RV Airflow in the living room AC (didn't have the same problem in the bedroom). Will be interested to see how it works for you - thanks for posting.

OK, so I got my first unit from KOOLRV a few days ago. After close inspection, the unit they are building and sending is being printed on a 3d printer, and not injected mold.
That is fine, but on one of m fittings, the 3d filament separated on the connection piece which is used to connect to the ducting in the ceiling. KOOLRV is sending me a new unit however without me even asking. They said they have updated their packaging to better protect it.

I was able to get the new unit and install it. There was a fair bit of work in the unit to make it fit, and it needed alot more aluminum tape to seal it all well, and it is alot quieter for sure, and it does feel like I have more flow at the vents I tested. I will install it in the other 2 units, and also in my unit in my horse trailer. At a minimum, it's more efficient, which is what I wanted for sure.

Sharing for awareness only ;)

I installed the KookRV device in my unit. There was an increase in air velocity through all the ducts but NO decrease at all in the the noise level. That was the major reason we bought this unit because my DW thought the A/C was too loud. (70 decibels)

A/C was too loud. (70 decibels)

I didn't see a noticable change in noise either maybe 5 decibels less.
I measure that with a phone app and was sitting in the rear seating. And the reading was 60 decibels at that location.

My AC guy said it is very differcult to manage that noise level, we have an older home that we installed central A/C back in the 70's and it too is noisey. I insulated the return air box with noise deading insulation and added a baffle I was able to reduce it some.
I thinking of trying some type of noise damping just around this device to see if that may help but based on my research that easier said than done.

I also used a phone app. I measured at counter height directly under the A/C unit (before and after. I too am thinking of adding some sound deadening material around the device.

Sort of thinking out loud here but I hope to maybe affect to aspects of the sound issue.
Since the ceiling chute assembly is no longer needed I'm thinking of installing a cut to fit MERV8 filter accross that area.
It is very thin and similar materials of the upgrade RV filters that can be purchased for the return vents filters.
It has a grid for reinforcement.

It should sandwich between the grille and the duct collor, where the chute collar was and use those screws from the chute assembly with fender type washers to secure the filter in place in place.

Remove the original filters and open the 2 chute vents.

A couple of things get accomplished in the direction of reducing the noise:
1) Now have the new filter acting as damper and isolation clean accoss the total duct collar opening.
2) the effective area of filtering is totally accross the whole openning now.
3) The air flow differential pressure will be reduce (theroretically) since it is larger cross section.
4) This lower differential should also reduce the noise also (therorectically).
5) It's inexpensive. And installation is reversable.

The only negative is replacing the filter when it needs changing but may be I learn something with the testing

I plan to try to test this weekend in preparation of our next trip.

Comments?
Patent Pending :)

I would be interested to hear how it works out. There isn’t a need for air conditioning right now in ontario so it’s pretty low on my to do list. In fact I’m in the process of putting it to bed for the winter. :)Let us know how well it works.

Placing the the filter accros the whole plenium reduce the decibels very much.

So I just cut out a filters from the material and replace the factory ones.

As it turns out and comparatively to the original test I'm getting about 52-53 dbls while sitting on the rear reliners which is 7 less then the original test.

So all in all happy with the results and the better air flow.
And since it cost less I'm very satisfied.
No vested interest in this product.

Just an update, on the last trip out the AC (air flow) started making a huge noise, found that the hose splitter "unsnapped" from the unit. Just tapped it up and it has been okay since.
Still performing otherwise about the same.
Noise level also has stayed the same. After tapping

I bought mine in June and just installed it last week. I watched all of the installation videos that I could find for this product. It is newer so the videos are limited, but it is pretty simple based on the product. I have a Furrion and the space was tight for the shorter end. I followed the recommendations from Kool RV and used almost all of the AC tape to make sure that I wouldn't have any leaks. I kinda went a little overboard. It is a pretty simple design and product plus the cost is perfect to improve your AC.

So, the 4x4 main duct connector has a gasket foam seal and snaps into place tightly. For each vent, the accordion tubes are insulated with aluminum interiors and black exteriors. The ends are zip tied to the adapters securely, which you can rotate should you need to adjust (but do it with care). Kool RV provides you with 6 feet of AC rated tape to seal off each adapter.......use it all to make sure that you do not have any leaks.

The scary part......especially if you are new to RVs was removing everything and remembering how it goes back together especially if you are old and have a short memory. Lol

Caution: Please make sure that you cut all power to the AC and your rig. Oh yeah...and clean your filter.

I reached out to Kool RV and discussed some things with them and found them VERY receptive and open to a dialogue.

Relocating my Sensor is probably up next when I am willing to take on the fishing expedition to the new location of my sensor. For now, I just poked it through the filter a bit.

I hope this helps!

I installed them on both my AC’s in my 337. The only problem I had with installation was that my bedroom AC was not perfectly square in the roof cut out so made installing difficult. They reduce noise a little and increased airflow. Overall happy.

The short side on my rig was a bugger....but it worked out.

Bastrop huh? My old working stomping grounds.

Been here 30 years, now retired and full-timing. I winter here and go north for the summer.
You would not recognize this place now, so much growth.
Any employer I would know?

Retired from the State of Texas and lived in Round Rock. I can remember the Bastrop fire....it was finally coming back right before I left. I moved in mid 2022.

Our kids still live in Austin and San Antonio....we return a couple of times during the year. The traffic has become really bad....Just when I thought that IH35 couldn't get any worse....it proves me wrong every time we visit.

Retirement is awesome. My wife & I are retired Federal civil servants.

Be glad your not here this weekend. We have UT vs Georgia and Formula One. What a headache.

I used to work the UT games back when my kids were in school. Oh what a nightmare. I do not miss IH35, 130 and Bastrop highway especially through the airport. How the area has changed SO much.
