Ladder

rear latter for 2800bh

I Have what I was told was the first latter to be put on a 2800BH, After many calls to my dealer they came through after telling me GD was working on a design and they were able to fill the request. I ordered the trailer with a ladder so the dealer was stuck trying to get it worked out. My I add that the rear of the trailer looks very nice and clean. GD seems to have used a modified latter from their other lines so it does look like a factory install.

Tell you a week from Saturday. We are picking up our '17 Imagine 2800BH on the 23rd and one thing we are having them do is add the GD ladder to it. So far no push back from dealership and they said they have done one other thing. So we will see how that goes...

We had the GD ladder installed on our Imagine. The part number is listed somewhere around here. It looks good. The top was not ready made for the radius roof, but he tweaked it and it works and looks fine, said that is what you have to do with all of them.

I hope it goes better than the stories I have read on here. They should have a full week to get it done...

I don't see the problem.

I think the left leg was only a couple inches off the roof initially. Pulled the left down a little, pulled the right up a little, refit and both were touching. If you really look you can see it at the top, which is the case with most all I have seen mounted on a radius roof. Nobody else has ever noticed. It's rock solid, I have had my 230 pound butt hanging on it along with a couple of bicycles on the ladder mounted rack, doesn't even creak.

Don't get upset, just relaying my experience, not downplaying yours. Like you stated, your roof (2950) may be different. I didn't feel like with my finished product I had to settle for anything. 6" out of whack would have been a problem for me.

I have one on my 2600RB. I've had one RV without a ladder. Won't do that again.

Wish I would have thought about a ladder when the camper was on it's way last October. Asked about it in April as it was in for some warranty work and they wanted $180 to ship it to the dealer. Has to be freight they said they don't deal with FedEx or UPS. Maybe if I get down to there area I can pick one up then. Wish I could get one shipped a a reasonable rate.

I'm at work and don't have the paperwork, but I don't think it cost much more than that to buy the ladder, have it shipped and have it installed.

Dealer said ladder was $129. Then one hour labor to install. So it was $200 for the ladder and install, then another $180 to ship. Total of $380. I told them no thank you at this time.

What WhittleBurner said. My dealer attempted that for me, but like everything else they touched they screwed it up. Most dealers should be able to handle it though, if they are willing.

Yup, tried that. They said they will no longer do that. To many issues with things coming up damaged on the unit in transit they said.

Maybe I should try another dealer location. Around me it is all the same dealer that has GD. But many different locations.

Thanks
