I had an issue come up a few weeks ago. Well, actually, it started a few months ago, but was off and on. I kept losing my one control connectivity through my iphone one control app. I tried to scan again, but it was not found. I reached out to Lippert, and they had me remove the ground and hot wire to reset the bluetooth. I tried, but it did not work. They told me it would be a full replace. Being that the LCI Unity X4 has a bluetooth chip installed on the main control board, it going out was problematic. Grand Design sent me a new LCI control board to install. I contacted GD support who connected me to a Site Tech to help walk me through the process. I had to use a usb drive to load the configuration of the old board, and reload the configuration to the new board. Everything else was just plug and play.

Thank you, Grand Design support for great warranty support.

Thanks for letting us know, glad you got good service and that everything is working now;)

I don't have the Bluetooth version, as mine is older, but my wall mounted tablet has a slot to put a storage card or ??? in and I've always wondered if I could back a "backup" copy of the programming in there to keep handy just in case something went wrong with the OEM tablet. I wonder if this is possible?

great question. I know I used a usb stick to retrieve the programming from the old one. They had me go into a hidden mode to find out how to save the configuration.

Well, well, I just did a google search and found exactly what I needed.........and used a USB stick to save the configuration of my system on One Control. When I was finished, I brought it into the house and stuck the USB drive in my computer and opened it up and low and behold, there was the file that I created. I've marked the USB flashdrive with a sticker, identifying what it is and will put it into my files folder in the trailer. Just one less thing to worry about if the wall mounted tablet would ever fail.

After doing my One Control Configuration Backup to a USB drive, I wrote up an article about how to do it and put it in the Reference Library. It is stickied up at the upper part of the first page.

Just curious, but what does this backup file hold? I use the tablet to adjust lights, move the slides, awnings, etc. but not sure what needs to be backed up?

It backs up the LCI configuration settings like name of devices/etc. I needed it because I had to replace my LCI Unity X4 motherboard and then reload my original configuration settings.

Reading this and other threads really piques my curiosity. How did I get a loaded 2021 Solitude 380FL without One-Control. Was it an option one had to order? I’m not that upset I don’t have it because people report problems. The phone app operation of slides and leveling would be nice. I’m just curious because it seems as if most higher end Rvs from 2018 on have it.

All of that functionality in the tablet is the software that is programmed to perform those functions. If something would happen to the tablet and it would die....or even if the software somehow became corrupted (think about a voltage surge or lightning strike or even just a component failure in the tablet), you could lose the programming that is in there and would very likely have to contact Lippert or Grand Design to get help reprogramming a new tablet. Look at it like running a backup on your personal computer for all your files and having a backup copy or image of the hard drive. If the hard drive fails, it's a fairly easy fix to just buy a new hard drive, then do a restore from your backup. Of course if you never do a computer backup, then you're in for a long, long week of trying to get it back to where it was before the drive crash....and worse yet, you've probably lost a lot of pictures, document, etc, etc. if there are no backups.

Thanks for the more detailed explanation. I was thinking the firmware on the tablet had all the information about devices controlled from the tablet, and the software did the operating of those devices. Guess not. I figured if the tablet failed, they'd make another tablet with all the information already loaded.

Can't answer your question about an option or not, ours is a Momentum triple axle M class and I think all of them came with the One Control. I've really not had any issues with mine in the 5 years that I've owned it, other than once in a while it seems just a bit slow to react. The tablet part works fine and the phone app also, and yes, it's pretty handy for putting slides out sometimes when you end up being parked fairly close to a tree or shore power or ???, as you can walk around to the slide and watch it come out and watch for any possible clearance issues before you hear the Clunk!

Like anything else though, there are pro and cons of the One Control. The biggest one for me is that there are a lot fewer physical switches when you have One Control vs. a non One Control. I finally got to the point that I ended up adding 8 switches. Six of the eight will work with the One Control or with the wireless switches I added to it, so now I have options. The other two lights are the overhead lighting in the two main slide areas and those get turned on/off with wireless switches also, but are not tied into the One Control at all.

That may very well be the case Howard, I don't know for sure, but my bet is that the tablets are all pretty much the same, and then each one has to be programmed individually or if you have a copy of the programming, you just load that in and the programming takes a minute or so (until it loads up) vs. having to program each individual function. My thought process was/is....why not have the backup........just in case.

I believe you most definitely have a point. :) I may check into it tomorrow when I pick up the trailer and take it in to have the front air conditioner replaced. Ah, to be able to do the things I could when I was younger. :)

Where did you find the motherboard and what was the cost? Trying to help my neighbor out with a bad Motherboard. The RV belonged to his son who suddenly passed away. Looks like the door side water connection was dripping on the Arctic power supply terminal and fried part of the board.

Do you have the part number? Try contacting Lippert directly.
