Hello, all. I have a 2023 Transcend Xplor 265BH. After parking at my sisters house for a few months, and before hitting the road, I decided to make sure the “white” on my roof was still in that condition. I used a car wash brush and soap. I used a lot of water to rinse the accumulated dirt and soap off.
When I entered the trailer I had water dripping from skylight in the kitchen area. Getting back on top, I covered the existing caulk with Gorilla brand latex.
1. Has anyone else encountered this situation
2. Anyone see a downside to my fix
Thanks.

The skylights are pieces of crap and the moron workers are incorrectly installing them and overtightening the screws that hold them on. Look for small cracks, mainly in the corners.

Mine was just replaced a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks, pappcam. I kind of realized that when applying the latex a little above the factory line, with only about a pound of pressure, the outer cover of the skylight flexed in several inches. It’s only millimeters thick.

Yes, latex caulk will not stick on the roof or the existing caulk when it cures. You need to use the correct self leveling sealant for your roof material.

Thank you huntr70. One fact I left out is I am in the process of a 1000 mile journey from Oregon back to home base in SoCal. I wanted peace of mind in case I hit rain alone the way.
I will address permanently once I get there. I appreciate the knowledge, not just for me, but for everyone on this group.

You should have a roll of eternabond in your supplies
