Location of a GoPower IC-3000 in a GD Reflection 150 series

I just ordered a new 2025 GD Reflection 260rd and plan to DIY install a GoPower IC-3000 inverter. I've read some posts & manuals and watched some youtube and feel I can handle the job.

One question I had was where others who have done this mounted the inverter? Everything battery related is currently in the front compartment and I was intending to mount it on the wall or the floor in there (probably the floor given this thing weighs 50 lbs). That is, if I ignore this statement in the GoPower installation manual:

"PROXIMITY TO BATTERY BANK
The Inverter/Charger should be located as close to the batteries as possible but not within the same compartment. The length and size
of the DC Cables will affect performance. Long DC wires tend to lose efficiency and reduce the overall performance of the Inverter/
Charger. Use the DC cables recommended on page 20."


Do folks just ignore this, or do you actually mount them in the pass through compartment?

As long as I'm asking questions, has anyone fished the wire for the remote control unit into the inside of the RV? Any tips on how you did that?

I think the proximity statement refers to a safety concern related to the hydrogen gas created by charging a lead acid battery. No such a issue with lithium ion batteries.
 
I mounted ours under the stairs in our 374TH and upsized the wiring for the additional distance.
The issue with the GoPower IS-3000 is that they are prone to failure.
When they work, they work exceptionally well.
Ours lasted just over a year before failing.
We replaced it with (2) Victron 3000 Watt inverters for better off-grid capability.
 
My inverter came from GD mounted on the ceiling of the front compartment, i.e. in the same compartment as the (not lead acid) batteries.
A difference of a a couple of feet in the 12V DC battery->inverter cables will make a dramatic difference in the inverter output; the resistance in 12V cables is much higher than in 110V wiring.

I installed a IC-3000 inverter/charger in a 2019 Solitude 310gk about 3 years ago and its been ok since then. Its mounted in the pass through on a 1/2" thick plywood piece that's nut and bolted to the forward wall. The edge of the plywood sits on the pass through floor so that most of the weight is resting on the floor. The 4 lifepo4 batteries are in the front compartment inside a plastic storage bin on the other side of the wall that the inverter is mounted on. I used size 4/0 welding cable (about 2 feet long each cable), a 400 amp ANL fuse close to the batteries but the disconnect is next to the inverter on that same wall. I pulled the cable for the remote display from the basement area upward inside the wall using several sections of (electricians) fiberglass rods screwed together and mounted it on the existing control panel. When I first tried to pull it up, I used an electricians metal fish tape but it jammed up too many times, its very crowded in there. I can try to send pics of the unit and the remote, let me know.

I have a 2020 29RS and I mounted the inverter in the basement, under the steps. On the other side of the steps, the batteries. Two 304ah batteries are inches away from the inverter. The other two batteries are on the other side of the basement. Next to the Nautilus/hot water tank.

The batteries all go to buss bars as well as the converter and inverter. Once the stock wall is put up, it looks stock. The stock battery location has not been cleaned up. Next on my list of things to do.
