Looking for campground close to Johnston Space Center

During this years trip to south Texas I decided to stop for a couple of nights around Houston to visit Johnston Space Center. I am looking for recommendations for a campground that accommodates large fifth wheel trailers and/or suggestions for organizing a JSC visit.

If you don't mind about a 30 min drive stay down at Galveston. Galveston State Park is great if you can live with water and electric. Other private parks on the island offer full hookups i.e. Jamaica Beach CG.

I agree with staying in Galveston. We just got back Wednesday from Camp Margaritaville on Crystal Beach. It is expensive but we love the location and amenities.

Westlake R Resort on Clay Rd. Full hookups, big rig friendly. We stayed there and found it to be close to JSC, etc.

Look into Lakeview RV resort in southern Houston. We stayed there many times when visiting.
