Just bought 2024 Transcend 235bh. We have had the camper for a few days and just noticed it has some hail damage on one side. we are bring it back Wednesday to have them take a look at it but they mentioned they would probably replace the panels free of charge. question is what would you do. I'm thinking asking for some money back, pointless dent removal or they get us another trailer. I would rather a paintless dent removal come out . I'm worried that the quality and workmanship from the factory is better and don't want to deal with issues from them taking apart a brand new camper for this. thanks for the help.

Since this is a warranty issue, the dealer may have limited options as to what they can offer you.

BTW: It looks like you're new here, welcome to the forum.

that's what I'm going to try and push I think it would be easier for everyone and won't risk any poor workmanship

I would try for paintless repair as it not only relieves you of the concern over workmanship, but also keeps it out of their shop for who knows how long. Maybe a day for paintless repair depending on how bad it is.

Yeah..... paintless here too. Dealer maybe looking for some extended warranty work in service dept... got to feed the monkey, man!

Replacing the aluminum siding is pretty easy and straight forward. No big deal.

The 235 is being discontinued, so if the dealer doesn't have one in stock, they won't get you another one.....

As for money back, good luck. If they are willing to fix it for you, that is your best scenario. You can't use PDR repair as aluminum stretches and it will never be the same.

Welcome to the forum (though sorry for the issue you're having). Here are a few forum tips:

1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

3) You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

Note: you'll need to have a paid subscription to add an image to your signature.

Finally, huntr70 knows what he's talking about...

Paintless dent repair works well on steel panels when you have to have access from the backside of the dent. In the autobody repair industry, aluminum is a whole different repair method as it stretches easily.

Your Transcend is an aluminum skinned RV. It is relatively easy to replace those panels.

Where are you located? I would highly suggest you take it back to the Grand Design Factory Repair Center in Indiana. They will do an excellent job. Call their customer service number and speak with someone there.
