I have the TST system, and I can drive away and the system won't alert. It takes about an hour for it to alert for lost sensor. Now a low pressure, or high temperature, or other alerts happen immediately.
I was going to buy the TST TPMS until I found out that if it loses connection to a tire sensor that the system will keep broadcasting the last know value for quite a long time. What a useless feature and I'll bet they do it that way because their system constantly loses connection to the tire sensors due to poor signal quality. I opted for the EEZRV system instead and like it a lot. When it loses connection to a tire sensor, the system beeps to alert me. On our last trip it got a little annoying because one of the batteries in the wheel sensors ran low and it would trigger the alarm until I replaced the battery.
I never had a very strong opinion about using an impact wrench on trailer tires until this year. This past February we traded in our Transcend 26RLS and bought an Image 2670MK. After our "test run" trip I was not happy about the braking and I wanted to reinstall my kinematic wheel balancers that I had removed off of the old trailer. So I tried to remove a tire from the new trailer and wow did I get a surprise! To make a very long story short, I found that someone at the factory or dealership used an impact wrench to install the tires and they severely over torqued virtually every single lug nut on all four wheels. Once I attempted to remove a lug nut it not retighten again, as the threads were destroyed. I called GD and Lippert to complain. After much negotiation GD finally agreed to follow Lippert's advice and sent me out new drum assemblies (complete with new studs) and I did the repair myself in the yard. I needed to use a 24" breaker bar with a 4 ft pipe over it to get the lug nuts off. I even broke one 1/2" extension and bent another removing the lug nuts. It took me 2 days to complete the repair. I also learned during the whole process that no one ever adjusted the brakes on the trailer. So now I'm an anti impact wrench kind of guy.
