Mattress Pad for xls 17mke

I'll be replacing ours with the Zinus Green Tea mattress 8in. It's made for Murphy beds and is one of the lightest mattress which is why I choose that one. It's not a topper, it's the entire mattress. Also available in 6, 8, 10 and 12in. Also not expensive. Selling feature for us was the weight since we are tight on payload.

Thanks for your input.

I bought a 4inch memory foam topper for the mattress that came with the trailer, did so as someone else suggested on this group. Haven't slept on it as yet, just got trailer 2 weeks ago but if that doesnt work I will be replacing with a folding memory foam mattress. The bed is still easy to fold up with the 4 inch mattress but is alittle high to get into.

There have been several recent posts on this related to the Murphy bed. You might use the search function and read what those folks had to say.

We bought the Slumber Solutions HighLoft 2" memory foam mattress topper for the OEM mattress in the 17MKE. It works well for us and recommend it if you prefer a firmer bed.

We just purchased a new 2022 17MKE and like you really found the mattress lacking. I discovered the 'perfect' mattress as a replacement, and it isn't super expensive either. We purchased the "Air Dream Ultra" combo springs/inflatable mattress from SeatingSytem.com. The ultra has a remote Inflate/Deflate, is extremely comfortable because it is an air mattress with built-in springs, and fits the MurphyBed perfectly. We deflate it for a couple seconds then push the bed closed exactly like the original mattress. When we bring the mattress down we just hit the 'inflate' button and it fills the mattress the rest of the way up.
If you like it harder or softer, just add a little air or remove a little air.

We just purchased a 2023 17MKE. One night on the stock bed and the mattress was gone. Bought a Sleepy's Snug 8" RV Queen memory foam from Mattress Firm. Look on their website. Chat with a "sleep specialist" and you can ask for a discount. Got ours for $269 including tax. Soooo much more comfortable. No problem folding it into the bed although it is heavier.

I have the same problem with my MKE 17. Have you contacted GD or Seely? Don’t they have an obligation to help us? We paid top dollar for a camper. We cannot sleep in.

Hi, we have a 2023 17MKE and the mattress is terrible. The Air Dream Ultra sounds interesting, but wondering about the durability. Since you've had it for about a year now, how has it held up?

Welcome to the forum! Since this is an older post and it's not clear who you are referencing, here are a few forum tips:

1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

3) You can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

Works exactly like it did when I put it in about a year ago. I let air out for 5-10 seconds then just flip the Murphy bed up. I got the model with a remote inflate/deflate button and velcroed it to the nightstand. It’s a Great solution.

Did you get the Zinus Green Tea mattress? Do you like it? Did it fit in the Murphy bed space? We have the short queen in our 17MKE. Just curious how it worked out for you. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. I completely missed it. We did get the Zinus Green Tea 8" mattress and like it. However, our bed in the 22MLE is fix not a Murphy bed. You'd need to measure to space you have when the bed is up to see if it would fit. Zinus also sales a 6" mattress if that helps.

Was your original murphy bed mattress split? Does the Zinus 8" fold up ok? We have a 17MKE which might not be the same as yours....
