Help! We have discovered Mice inside our RV. Any suggestions? We need to get rid of them asap. We did put a sticky trap inside and did catch one but we just did this a day ago.

Lots more sticky traps. There is never just one mouse. Put them on edges and in corners, especially under cabinets or other things that provide an overhang. Of course, remove all food items. Check your trap line daily, and replace as needed. It may take a week or two to get them all.

Why it is the urgency. Are you using it?

The biggest thing is to give them no reason to be there. You can’t block them from coming in

Unfortunately they like the warm so only way to do that is not heat your RV.

I like the electric traps you can get on Amazon. Send them to the electric chair.

I had one mouse in our TT a couple years ago. I had internet so I googled up the best way to catch mice. I found this idea for a bucket with a ramp up to it and a can on a skewer. Fill the bucket with a few inches of water. Caught it the 1st night I put it out. I had several traps and the sneaky fella just ate the peanut butter off the trap.
Luckily I had a 5 gal bucket and some scrap wood with me. You can google 5 gal bucket mouse traps and watch some videos. They do work.

We picked up a river rat while in FL, it was So hard to catch. Once we got home and were not in the trailer with the dogs I finally put a small amount of rat poison in the belly, in short time no more signs of rat poo. Down side is it died in the belly not outside and began to smell 😖

Wait till you start seeing the dead magots from its dead self! Then you know its still in there somewhere!

Had one in ours last year that decided to drink the water from the damprid container.... killed it quick and then found some dead magots on the floor where it died. That was all in the space of 2 weeks. Thank godness it was winter.

Ewwww... it died in the belly. but could smell it if you opened the cabinet next to the sofa. It's likely a skeleton by now

Yeah, it's never easy but do what have been said and try to have patience, I know that easy said, I hate them myself, what I did is to put traps under the tires and by my front jacks, that's the only way they can get in.

I try to invite them to there last mean there before they get in and in most cases I will get them but before they would make there way in so I had to find out where were they coming in and lay trap there. It is a headache because trying to convince the wife that they are gone is stressful, it make for a bad camping trip.

There is a saying that if you found 1 mouse there are 5 more... or something like that. We went to a state park once and after 2 nights we suddenly heard scurrying in the night. We learned later that all the campers around us were having the same problem. Having an invasion at a camping site was a first, and thankfully last, for us. We opened up nooks and crannies behind drawers, behind the inside furnace and water heater cover, in our outside kitchen, etc. I think we put out around 8 traps. We also put dryer sheets around anything touching the ground (tires, hose, electric, etc). We caught probably a dozen and it took 2 days to get rid of them. We were happy when we left!

Were all the wiring comes in or is your panel on the floor there is a big hole on the floor that needs to be filled also in the shower take that little vent cover over and you will find another big hole where these mice and rats can come in from

For existing mice, use TomCat bait chunks. Too big for them to carry away. Check for dead mice for awhile - as others have pointed out, they smell.
Once the existing mice are gone, LIBERALLY sprinkle dryer sheets around the camper - not just on the floor but in drawers, cabinets, closets, dark and mysterious holes :) I think I used a box of 50 last fall. Keeps out squirrels too - I must have found 50 pinecones everywhere in the trailer. They get in through the underbelly and I don't know of anyway to block it up

When we bought our 2018 Solitude in the spring of 2024, it conveniently came with two mice! Used the bucket trap as described. Caught the little vermin in minutes! Best mouse trap ever!

Bait traps on the outside ! Tip from our exterminator at the Legion hall. We had a bad infestation at the hall and they put 5 boxes outside and a couple in the basement. No more problem. Had them in our 2600 and I put traps and glue traps inside but finally got it totally stopped when I put bait boxes outside the trailer. I bought 6 on Amazon (and they are not that expensive) and a bucket of bait . Change bait very couple of months and have not had a problem in 2 years . Spent like $50 and solved the problem......cheap fix that really worked.

We picked one up while boondocking in the middle of a field outside of Bryce Canyon. It got in to the drawers next to the oven (chewed through some plastic bowels) and the drawer under the oven. Surprisingly it didn't get to the trash can. We pulled out all the drawers and found where there was an opening for wires that ran from behind the fireplace to the cabinet drawers and behind the oven and figured that was where it came in. We stuffed steel wool into the hole going from the cabinet drawers to the stove so it couldn't get to that area again. We had a bait box in the pantry that we got from our s&b pest control and moved it to under the drawers. After a couple of days we didn't see any more signs of the mouse but did notice some droppings inside the bait box so figured he had snacked on that. We stuffed steel wool in the hole between the fireplace wall and cabinet drawers. That way if there was an opening behind the fireplace another wouldn't be able to get to the cookware again. We did find a mouse near the trailer near death so assumed it was the culprit. Haven't seen any signs of them inside anymore. However, when we pulled the LiFePo batteries out of the front bay a few weeks ago because of the extreme cold, we did find an old mouse petrified on top of one of the batteries. Not sure when that one met its demise.

Grampa Gus's repellant, all natural and pet safe. Haven't seen any mouse evidence in 4 years of using it.
