Kathy and I with our Cavapoo, Charlie Chaplin, are, after an end of October quick shake-down "cruise" in our new 2023 Imagine AIM to the Maine coast and back, ready to leave the snow of Michigan and embark on a southern swing and a bit warmer weather. Our plan is to enjoy life's history as we roam around parts of Florida along with Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana. However, I t looks as if we will experience some cool weather camping but it should be warmer than Michigan.

Welcome to the forum. For the Maine coast, Acadia National Park is a must. But book early, a lot of sites are already sold out.

Welcome to the site. We have lots of good members and everyone will try to help you out.

Besides some upcoming cool weather (cold weather for those of us who live in FL) you may find that you need to do some planning ahead to get into some locations you want to see during the "snowbird" season. Things along all the southern coasts get full quickly.

Sounds like you will be traveling along the Gulf Coast. Should be a lot warmer that Michigan! Enjoy your trip!
Yup campgrounds do fill up along that area in the South with Snowbirds and Fulltimers waiting out the winter months. We resemble that remark!
We don't ever pull our rig with slick roads (ice/snow). Southern states usually don't have the equipment to deal effectively with ice or snow covered roads or treat the roads ahead of time, so if we would be traveling, we just keep an eye on the weather and stay in one spot until the cold/freezing weather passes.
As far as just dealing with the cold weather, we just make sure we have enough propane on board and utilize our electric heaters to supplement. we also use our tank heaters.

We're in Galveston and cold weather is approaching for the next few days, right around freezing low 30s. Also since Texas has problems keeping their electric grid up during cold/freezing/wet weather we test our generator and keep it ready. We also use a heated fresh water hose and fill our fresh water tank in case the campground cuts off the water.

Welcome to the forum! We're also from MI but are in FL on the Gulf coast until things thaw in May. It's been a cool winter here for the most part but it beats the temps in MI today.

We did play ahead for spots and did book early but were delayed 24 hours for getting out of Michigan and a storm that hit there and all the way down past Nashville. Lots of snow but the roads were ice free and mostly dry.
