For those who aren't familiar with them, Missouri has some really great parks. Not all have camping, so it pays to check first.
There is no admission to the State parks. There is no difference in price for in-state or out-of-state residents. There is a $2.00/day/site discount for disabled, senior (65+), or military. Amenities vary from park to park. Some parks have 50A FHU, while others are basic (no hook-ups) only. Most are somewhere in between. WIFI may be available at some parks, but most don't have it. (I'm convinced that the cell phone companies block signals at parks, because I've had good signal going into the park, and as soon as we're in the park it is gone.) Some parks are adding WiFi for campers. If you are near the check-in booth you may see a wifi signal, but that's only for the computer in the booth.
We're hosting at Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park for July and August. This is a medium-sized park, 75 sites and two campground hosts. We don't have any FHU sites yet, but I'm told that is in the works for this winter. We do have several 50A sites, and a bunch of 30A sites. None of the sites have water or sewer at them yet. There are lots of hiking trails, and the terrain is rather hilly and wooded, so you can get your exercise.
As you would expect from a park near a large city, we're pretty full on the weekends. Reservations can be made up to a year out, and there is a $6.50 reservation fee. You can check in online, too, so you don't need to talk to a host if you don't want to. Tip: same-day reservations don't incur the reservation fee.
Last weekend we had a mini-GD rally, with several GD trailers all in one place. Come see us.
