This post was originally made to a ten-year-old thread. I've moved it to its own thread.

I see you did shoe storage in the bottom step.

I can assume it was empty inside. I am very curious as to what is under all the steps. We just picked up our 295RL and shoe storage is lacking so I am considering modifying the steps to add shoe storage.

Here is a pic. You will have to do some work from both sides- remove the felt covered panel in the basement to access back side. The existing carpet panel is relocated to the back of the shoe compartment. I added a pick of the bottom drawer of the coffee bar (yours is the same, we had a 295 before this one) Deb found a tote that sits nicely in the drawer to hold shoes also and keep things clean. Shoes can be bundled on their sides to fit many pairs. Take your time and have fun!

Fantastic. Many thanks, I’m building a list of projects and this is on the top of the list.

Well I have started down the path of modifying the steps for storage/show storage. First step, open things up, take pictures and measurements. This should be simple enough. For others benefit here are the pictures for the 2024 295RL stairs, from the basement and from the coach side.IMG_6847.jpgIMG_6846.jpg

Stair mods complete. Rather than modify the existing structure I found it easier to tear out the original and rebuild with the shoe storage. I’m happy with the end result. IMG_6917.jpgIMG_6915.jpg

If wanting a less mod solution.....

We purchased an ottaman and replaced 2 of our dinette chairs to store our shoes and other stuff. Also makes a great footrest.

Very true. In fact our 2024 295RL came with an ottoman and 2 chairs. The ottoman ends up as our 2 puppy storage (leashes, food, toys etc).

Dan,
Curious on this mod "Additional lower tail lights". We carry electric bikes on the back and when we use the bike cover the tail lights are not as visible as I would like. What was the mod you did/pictures?

Thanks,

Here are a couple of pics. Pretty simple really. thin aluminum angle mounted to bottom frame. lights mounted to the angle. I would recommend getting single function LED lights. (brake and turn only) with no running light feature. The dual function LED lights don't work well and back-feed to the other lights.
