moisture along floor line and in carpet?

Good morning :)

We've had a lot of rain here in Oregon recently and we're seeing a line of water about 2 inchs high off the floor all across the slide outs and portions of the wall in a 2018 GD Imagine 3170BH.

We're also getting "pools" of 3-4 wet spots of water in the slide out area beneath the recliners. As much as i clean and dry, the moisture returns

I replaced the outside seals but it didn't seem to do a lot in some places (maybe I need to do it again?). We've placed dehumidifiers and Damprid through out but still have the issue. We also keep the blinds open and items away from walls to reduce condensation.

Anyone have any thoughts about what's going on? I included some pictures for reference.

Thanks RVers!

Jacob

Have you resealed around all of your slide windows, exterior outlets, trim, etc? Checked the slide roofs where they meet up with the walls for any possible leak areas.

We had a drip from our large rear living room sliding window due to rain water entering through the drain holes at the top of the window frame. Used 100% clear silicone to seal up behind the drain plugs and then set the plugs back into the holes. No problems since.

I’d bet it’s condensation.

Are you living in the trailer? What’s the outdoor temperature?

Dehumidifiers are almost universally ineffective in cooler temperatures and DampRid absorbs a tiny fraction of what a dehumidifier will.

Thank you for your insight! The seals around the windows look ok but I'll replace those too since they're over a year old. Did you remove the window frame to check those drain plugs?

Thank you for your insight too! Maybe condensation along steel beams in the frame/wall? We'll get vertical strips of water in the bedroom area too like the ones on the ground in the photo, but always in the exact same place. We're in the trailer full time and the outdoor temp is around 40 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit daily. I've noticed DampRid doing very little compared to the summer and fall. I haven't heard it doesn't work as well in the cold, so that's interesting! We also have dehumidifiers running in each room.

No... just the plugs, silicone, then reinsert.

How much water are the dehumidifiers collecting daily? Do you have a hygrometer to get humidity values?

Have you checked the Ventalation pipes on the roof near the area that is leaking in water? I found in my RV after almost a week of steady rain. There was a small hole just above the roof about 1/4 inch up the vent pipe. The rain ran down the roof past the drain pipe when it rained. I put a wet/dry vacuum up on the roof and sucked out some water. Not much. But enough to cause a problem inside. I then took the vac inside and reversed the air flow to blow. I had my wife hold it up to the ceiling area near the wall as the vac was running. I was on the roof looking for water bubbling up and out. I found it. It was the little hole at the drain vent pipe after all. We ran a small electric space heater in that room for a week. All dampness is gone and no stains. Now waiting to see if mold starts to show. I hope not.

Hard to say how much water but less than the warm season. Maybe a liter. They're medium sized and fill up in about 4 days. Hygrometer reads 70-74% humidity even with the dehumidifier running at all times.

Nice I'm glad you found it! Only "leaks" from the ceiling are walls that weep from the top. Could be condensation I guess... I replaced all those seals and it didn't seem to do much and it's only the slide outs that do it!

70+% RH makes me strongly suspect condensation. I’d try go to extremes running the bathroom exhaust fan during and after showering and the kitchen fan while cooking.

If multiple dehumidifiers can’t keep the humidity lower than that, there must be a lot of moisture being released in the air.
