These Momentums are great but they lack storage. Especially my 21 foot model. I was inspired by posts from users Moosor and Toy Haulen to remove the false wall in the from storage area and do something better. My 21G came from the factory with the dual solar panels and the 2000 watt inverter. I think all owners can agree that the front storage compartment, as it ships from the factory, cannot store much. Also, another thing I did not care for was how low the solar and inverter disconnect switches were and the style of switch they chose. The red disconnect portion projected too far into the storage area and I was afraid if they might break off if anything I stored in there shifted during travel.

The very first thing I did is shown in the first photo. I added a shelf in the upper really narrow portion of the compartment. This allows me to make use of the upper area. I store all of our folding pod rocker chairs and other tall skinny items up there.

The next thing I did was was remove the access panel and removed the front skin off of the false wall by gently prying on it to pull all of the staples out of the 1/8" thick skin. I did this because I wanted to reuse the structure behind it since it is already at the correct shape. The inverter, as it ships form the factory is screwed to the floor which kills the space in that area. You can see in the second photo I relocated it to the back wall. Another thing I did was relocated the screen which is also the remote on/off switch. It killed me that the remote on/off switch for the inverter caused you to have to go outside of your trailer and into a compartment to turn the inverter on. Seems like it defeated the purpose of having a remote switch. I ended up cutting hole in the back wall to mount the screen on the bedroom side. Now, not only can I turn it on or off from inside the trailer but more importantly I can monitor the battery voltage while using the inverter (we do a lot of boondock camping in the CA desert).

In this 3rd image you can see I am reusing the original structure just set back further in the compartment. I bought a $15 piece of 3' x 4' x 1/4" thick dry erase white board form Home Depot to use as the new front panel. At the top area I relocated the large factory supplied vent to a place directly above the inverter. I also added more 3 1/2" vents at each corner. This is also where I relocated the inverter and solar disconnects. I did not have to change any of the wiring, all of the leads were long enough from the factory to get them into this position. And in the last pic you can see the new cover and how much extra space this gained. All done I think I spent less than $50 on this mod. I hope someone else gets inspired to do something better than this.
