We have a 2020 376TH and looking to replace the Norcold 2118 with a residential model. Not sure if we want 12vdc or 120vac. We don't have solar. What make and model has been recommended and will fit in the space currently occupied by the Norcold? Thanks in advance.

Replaced our Norcold 1210 with a Dutchaire 12vdc, 2 door w/freezer drawer, 17 cu ft fridge with defrost cycle. This fridge is manufactured by JC Refrigeration. We took our 337 rls to JC in Elkhart and they completed the install of the fridge and a new Dc/Dc converter charger and an Epoch 300 ah lithium battery in about 6.5 hours. Went with the 12v instead of the 120v so I didn't have to buy and install an inverter to run off batteries & solar. Since we don't boon dock, the 300ah battery can run the fridge for more than 24 hours without shore power. Also went from 12cu ft fridge to 17 cu ft in same space and no more manual defrost. Have had the fridge for several months and has worked flawlessly in 95 plus temps. Freezer stayed at 0 degrees and fridge at 37 degrees!

But does that include adding the inverter and running the wiring? Seems like it would be easier, and cheaper, to just run the 12 V power for the conversion.
I guess that would depend on what one is looking for. The residential that came in mine costs $1200 and you can pick up a 1000w inverter with an auto transfer switch for under $300. Wiring shouldn’t be that much depending on where you mount the inverter.

I don’t know what the conversion costs and I’m sure the inverter route would be more work but has more options also.

There is plenty of headroom in the 1000w to wire in a couple of outlets into the inverter. I did that with our previous unit so I could have a regular fan and tv in the master bedroom and to power our outdoor TV.

But then that leads to upgrade Disease. Now I have a whole unit inverter and lithium!!
