Lots of posts on this. What the heck is going on with GD workmanship!!??

Here's my story.

Brand new 337 RLS, I mean brand new! Manufactured 9/20/204, picked up 10/5/2024.
Got back from our first 3 day shake down run Sunday, parked in our RV garage and looked at roof just to check things out.
These 2 photos don't even show all the lifted spots.

Contacted GD, they said that's unfortunate and not our best work. Bring to dealer for repair.
Wow, we feel like we just got you know what. Will the repair last??? We are extremely upset to say the least.

Sorry for the rant. Sorry for the picture orientation. This flipped them and I don't know why?

Manufacturered in 2024! RV of the future right there.

It seems like GD is willing to cover it, if you prefer a mobile tech, GD will authorize them for warranty work. GD doesn't have a fleet of techs they sound out for repairs, only to rallies. This doesn't seem like the type of repair that requires a factory visit. Granted, it should have been done right the first time, but what other solution would make you satisfied?

My guess..... not to have dealt with it in the first place. Unless the OP is one of those "rare" types who like to haggle over warranty work on a brand new trailer.
ChinoAZ, OP good luck - I hope you get your roof situation fixed. Shameful whats being put out these days as new "quality" built trailers.

Since your unit isn't even a month old, keep an eye on the roof material. It will change, bubble, settle, lay down, bubble for at least 6 months. All depends on weather. If you park it in the sun for a day, it will look completely different than under a roof out of the sun and heat.

The glue doesn't even fully cure in a month.

Unless the manufacturing process has changed since 2019 (which possibly could have), our 295RL was less than 6 months from build when purchased and did not have such issues. We originally used to place a RV cover on ours when storing outside the first year requiring getting on/off the roof and never noticed anything with our TPO roof like that before.

Mine had bubbles similar to this when I checked it after our first trip. After 6 months they were gone and have never returned. At that time it was parked in the driveway, as the carport was a couple of years in the future. I would say monitor it for a while. Park it out in the sunlight. After an amount of time that you feel is reasonable (not less that 3 months IMO), if it has not settled down, then go to the dealer. If it's not pulled away anywhere around the seams and joints I wouldn't worry about it at all especially if it isn't worse - but that's just me...

Completely different material used.

Our 2021 pre Pandemic was terrible, Slide material would flap when blowing debris off. Main roof had bubbles everywhere. GD agreed to fix front at main cap only. Was not happy. When dealer started repair they learned once material is glued down it cannot be glued again. Dealer called & iunformed us we were getting a new roof slides & all. They did a good job roof was flat like it should have been.

I think 2021 was pandemic rather than pre-pandemic. Our 2022 (built 2021) and sons 2020 Imagine (guessing that was built 2019) have held up - so far.

I don’t think there is such a thing no matter the year

Mine is a 2021 built fall 2020 and has been relatively perfect

I think the plandemic just got people on the interwebs complaining more and very loudly as well

I am quite sure the same issues have always been around

Maybe. When I sold Pontiacs in my youth, I was told never to by a car that was built on a Monday or Friday.

I reached out to GD Customer Service for the same issue I believe. My Reflection 303RLS is brand new as well and I picked it up at the end of July 2023. I brought up my concern regarding air pockets under the TPO membrane and the following was their response: “The air under the membrane on the roof is also quite normal. The membrane is a rubber-based material. It will expand and contract in the heat and the cold. Those bubbles/ripples will come and go. So unless you are seeing water on the inside of the ceiling/trailer, then you have nothing in which to be concerned.”

So what are your thoughts?

I have a 21 337RLS bought in spring of 2020, so an early 21. Roof had some bubbles then and was somewhat of a disappointment and not up to the quality of othe units I've had over the years however; been watching it closely over the last couple years and has not changed much. Maybe got slightly worse. Been in warm climates and freezing cold. Hopefully it continues to hold on.
