Mounting a bedroom TV in 313RLTS

I could find no instructions in any of our paperwork or manuals on how to mount a TV in the bedroom, or weight limits for said TV.

In other models there aparently is a metal backing plate, but in the 313RLTS there is not. I can tell that there is another sort of material back there (wood?) though.

So, questions:

Did I miss the instructions in the paperwork? If not:

What is the weight limits for the TV and mount?

What sort of screws do I need to use to secure the mount?

Model: 2015 313RLTS
VIN: 573TR3724F3301981

ALSO...and I preface this by saying that I have not looked in the manual yet...can the sound from the living room TV be broadcast over the trailer's sound system? I don't need to know how necessarily, just yes or no.

Thanks!!!

Tim

Hi Tim (@Thebohs),

No

Depends on the bracket and fasteners used. Correct bracket and fasteners will support up to a 32" TV.

What sort of screws do I need to use to secure the mount?
Metal screws (to go through the EGS backer) that are not self-tappers.

Looks like customer service skipped your question of what material backing plate made of, but since they said use non self tapping metal screws it must be the same metal panel the rest of us have. Maybe try a stronger magnet to locate it.

Soooooo...now I'm a bit confused. Through email, I was informed by JD Adams (GD Regional Service Manager) that the backer was wood, that I need wood screws, and that it would support only a 22" TV. Now I hear that it is EGS, I need metal screws, and it will support a 32" TV.

I CAN tell you that there is no magnetic material in my backer. I used a VERY strong magnet to check and got nothing. Could be aluminum or wood though. I would REALLY like a definitive answer as I intend on putting a TV in there this week. I'd love to be able to put a 28" or 32" in there, especially since I already have one.

Thanks!

Tim

I started out with a small tool retrieval magnet, then switched to one of those stronger round (ball bearing like) magnets, then went and got my Craftsman nuts and bolts holder with its VERY strong double magnets. Still got nothing. If I were a betting man, I'd bet there was no ferrous metal back there. Aluminum maybe though.

Ok, I got the official word. The 308BHTS has a metal backer and the 313RLTS has a wood backer. Use 1 1/2 inch (max) sheet metal or wood screws as appropriate.

Hi Tim (@Thebohs),

If the TV mount location is on an outside wall the backer is EGS metal. On an inside wall it is wood.
