Shopping a replacement for our '15 GDR 303RLS. One of our very few complaints in the 303 is the noise of the AC unit in the kitchen area. We have only one but will go with a second in the '24 311BHS we're thinking of getting.
During my research of several brands, that I don't remember, had comments in the reviews/walkthrough that their new AC units were very quite (WhisperAir or such) so wondering if GD has upgraded their AC units or ductwork to reduce the noise.

Anyone want to chime in on their experiences with the 311 are welcome. I've watched about all the videos I can find. Narrowed down to 311 or the 224MBS, each with their pro/con head to head.

1. Outside kitchen is more complete (not a big deal - never thought I wanted one anyway) but is far away from the door.
2. Great campsite view from dinette (like the 303) but is 2 benches instead of wraparound in the 224.
3. No second bath in the 311 (we have twin 6yr old granddaughters who'll be with us all the time and intend to keep this long-term so privacy will become a priority at some point.
4. 311 has same master bed storage as the 303 so would lose some of that in the 224.

Just spit-balling out loud folks so thanks for any feedback on either or both selection.

I assume you mean 324MBS. I have a 2023 and they have the colman mach ACs. Not quite but not horrible. I have the 2nd AC in the bedroom

Its kinda funny..... my wife likes the sound from our ac at night..... it drowns out all the outside noises in a busy camping area. We typically leave our bedroom fan on manual and just cycle the compressor during sleep time - works light white noise for her.

Not exactly a deal breaker for us since we boondock 99% in Montana at elevation (6000+) where nights are relatively cold and we spend little time inside during the day. I resist the generator as much as possible and with 400w solar rarely need it. Sitting around inside during the day is usually to get out of a t-storm.

When at a full hookup site we're usually resupplying and going to dinner or such, let it run while we're away, shut'er down and open windows at night and run the fan for cross ventilation.

Thanks for the replys - thinking out loud and bouncing it off the gang helps.

We love our 311BHS. We have done plenty of big trips in it with two young kids.

A couple of points:

The biggest pro is the kids get their own bathroom, in their own bunk room, at the opposite end of the trailer. The kids can use the potty at night without leaving their room.

Since their bunk room is at the other end of the trailer you can take a shower or watch a movie in the bedroom without disturbing the sleeping kids. You’ll be able to use the kitchen without walking past their room. The main door is also further away from their room compared to the mid bunk models.

We ended up taking out the trifold couch in their room. I took the folding bunk out above it, it wasn’t very solid, and certainly won’t last with kids jumping up and down on it. I built a more solid framed floor standing bed instead to match the main bunk in their room. I added my own wooden safety rails to both bunks. The floor space below it became their play area and toy storage.
