Howdy folks. RV newby here in Houston. We took delivery of a brand new GD Imagine XLS 23LDE a couple of weeks ago, and are in the process of outfitting it for an upcoming long trip. In the Houston heat we've been running the AC unit a lot, while hooked up to shore power, and in the process we began to hear a periodic and loud vibrating noise from the Furrion AC unit on the roof, which became progressively worse. Being an ex-commercial AC and heating mechanic, I shut things off and investigated.

What I found, after removing the shroud on the Furrion unit, was that the condenser fan was very loose and wobbling on the condenser fan motor shaft. So I managed to remove the fan, and found that the snap ring which is supposed to be on the shaft was laying on the bottom of the unit, and that the fan (made completely of plastic) had sheered the flat spot on the inside and is now completely round. So, it seems at least a new fan is in order.

This is a NEW unit... the lack of Furrion quality control is disappointing. It also appears that no RV dealers carry this fan.

Anyone else had this particular issue? Any help is very much appreciated.

If there is a number of any sort on the fan, google or yahoo may help you out. I've found fan motors for my home fridges and freezer that way.

Welcome to the quality control ring of fire. You purchased a great laid out unit....hopefully don't run into any more issues. Call GD or your dealer.....We found GD to be more than willing to help us...even sending parts to us (if you are handy like that). If not, your dealer will have to help you....prepare for it to sit on the lot for your turn.

Thanks, Rich. Through a number of searches, I was actually able to find the part number and order the part on the Lippert site. It is supposed to arrive today via UPS. Appears that no substitutes are available through Amazon or elsewhere, which was strange.

At any rate, in case anyone else needs one, the fan part number is C-FACR15SA-005, which is for a 15k BTU Furrion unit model: FACR15HESA-BL (and others)

Appreciate the reply, Eleven99.

Good to know about GD's willingness to help. Had I been in less of a rush to get this done (we were already supposed to be on the road), I probably would have gone through GD. Unless it's a hard dealer fix required, I'm better off fixing things myself, rather than having the trailer sit on the lot awaiting it's turn.

I see that you have a 23LDE. Yes, very nice floor plan and indeed well laid out. They made excellent use of all available space. We landed on it firmly, after reviewing countless others. Our main requirements were 30' in length or slightly under, under 11' in height, and at least a queen bed. The pass-through bathroom and rear kitchen sealed the deal. The pass thru made the bathroom that much bigger and the kitchen has decent counter space. Love all the cabinet storage, and fit and finish.

I see that you also have a Tundra 5.7L! I have a 2008 Tundra 5.7,.. still going strong at 117k miles. Very dependable truck and it's in great condition. We recently bought an F350 6.7L diesel, though, for hauling this trailer and any other heavier ones I need to. How's your gas mileage hauling the 23LDE loaded?
