Hi All,
New from Tidewater, VA. Looking at new fifth wheels and converging on Grand Design and Brinkley. We really like the 310GK the most, but concerned about the plumbing issues so joined here to be part of the conversation. I am not a prodigious poster, but I will certainly contribute when I have something to offer. Thanks for having us here!

Welcome to the forum. What's the plumbing issue that you're concerned about?

We saw this video about Pex and Flexible hose and that basically the plumbing in Grand Design is sub-par. I am not bashing the brand. This is a big purchase and I don't want to get it wrong.

Without doubt some GD owners have had plumbing issues, most have not. My coach has that type of connection, so far no issues.

That is helpful. Am I fretting over this more than I should? We are coming from boating world so we are handy and used to stuff needing repair/maintenance, but really don't want to start with problems. Basically wondering if we should keep these concerns as part of our decision tree or focus on other things?

Probably best to focus on what will make you happy in the new coach. The 310GK is a popular floor plan here, quite a few full-timers in that rig. I'm betting you'd get a lot of thumbs up there.

You must be watching YouTube videos from Rigor RV inspector. I’ve found a lot of his claims to be not true or over exaggerated. I feel he’s just trying to sell himself and stopped watching him.

If it helps any we have a 2014 and have had no pex to soft hose leaks. I think the most common leaks that happen seem to be behind the water control panels regardless of which water system is installed or where the soft hose hooks to the water heater tank (not the on demand heater)

We are having some leaks on the connections between the pex and flexible hoses. Our RV tech is re-plumbing an entire Momentum that is leaking throughout the rig. They are half through and twelve hours into the job. Our tech says that he only sees this in Grand Design rigs.
Our leaks were discovered because our water pump wasn't shutting off when dry camping. Fortunately we seem to have discovered the leaky joints early before any water damage occured. We repaired the leaking joints with ring clamps and installed Govee water sensors for future vigilance. We learned of these leaks Friday afternoon. I will call Grand Design tomorrow (Monday) to inform them of this problem and request support for this repair.
Our rig is a 2020 Momentum 320-G.

We have a 2022 310gk and no plumbing problems yet.

Welcome, while some have problems I think the majority are not prone to have big issues with the pex to soft hose. Being proactive and looking periodicly behind the water panel to look for drips at junctions before they turn into big leaks can save many headaches. And that wouldn't be much different than owning any trailer including a Brinkley. Both the Solitudes and Reflections are plumbed pretty much the same and we have had to change the control panel once due to malfunction of the panel, not due to leaking in the 10 yrs we have had ours.

Get which ever one suits your needs and wants the best, both are good trailers

Your rig is almost 5 years old. Way out of warranty.

It's not just Grand Design - it's industry wide. The "PEX to flex" is a bad idea but all the manufacturers just keep doing it... and with plastic connectors to boot.
