Hello everyone. New members here from Northern AZ. Long time campers but we're transitioning from a Fleetwood DP to a Grand Design Solitude 310GK. I kept landing on this site during searches, so I figured it was time to join. I hope to benefit from all the knowledge and experience in the room...and eventually help others where I can.

Kurt

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy the new Solitude. That's a very popular floor plan here, I'm sure there will plenty of fellow members who can help out if needed.

Welcome aboard! we have been members of this forum for a long time now, and I check it out every morning to meet up or contribute what I can. Great people, great information and sometime great entertainment!

oooooh.... another convert... Welcome aboard!

We also came from a diesel pusher into our 310GK-R. We love it. So much more like walking into a tiny home versus into the front of a bus on narrow steps, around seats in the front and finally into the living area. And less maintenance (and associated costs) too.

Don't be shy about reaching out for questions about the rig. There is a lot of experience and good info on this site. btw... nice area of the country that you are from; we like going there.

Hi Larry, thanks for the reply! You hit on two good points; 5th wheel seems much roomier than the DP and just having diesel in the name seems adds $200 to the hourly maintenance rate, it's crazy. We did love our motorhome, but it was time to move on for us. Glad to hear you like the 310GK, we can't wait to pick our unit up from the dealer in a few weeks. I do have a few experience/opinion questions for you on the MorRyde IS and Reese GB. I'll shoot you a DM so we don't tie up an intro thread.

It's a beautiful state, so much to see! I like heading down to southern AZ and NM when the weather cools off...bird watching heaven down there.

Safe travels...

Welcome and enjoy the forum. The amount of information and help here can't be beat!
Hi Sgt Bob, a salute to you for serving our country! How does your 2500HD do towing the 31MB? I have the same truck with the 3500 suspension package. All the numbers work out for towing the 310GK but the truck GVW numbers are close depending on the pin weight of the camper.

Take care, Kurt

Welcome, we also have the 310GK and love it.

I highly recommend the Reese Goosebox, I have the 20,000k model and just love the way it tows. As a mater of fact, my wife and I will often ask each other to check to see if the camper is still behind us as we are driving down the road, it rides so smoothly. By-the-way, we are towing with an F350 dually Diesel and also highly recommend towing the 310gk with a dually Diesel.

PS: since you haven't picked your coach up from the Dealer yet, I highly recommend you get a pair of 100ah Lithium batteries (LiFePo4) installed and an upgraded Lithium Converter to charge them with. You will be glad you made the upgrade (at least until you get your Solar project started :) ).
