Hi, I’m Shana and I have a 2021 solitude 280rk-r. And I have quite a few questions and I have looked on line on the internet, I don’t know if it is the way I’m wording it or what but I’m not getting any answers. I am here trying to seek some answers, hope my friends in the community could help…..

I bought my 5th wheel fully loaded (generator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, solar) I had some problems with it but they are all worked out now and I started camping for the first time…. I have gone 1 time, and now have questions on how to boondock. I don’t know how everything works this is my first time owning a 5th wheel. I read the Manuel it tells me about the things but not how to work them.. like I would like to run my air conditioner but unless I’m plugged into power it won’t run, and with the generator and solar I thought I could, I probably can just don’t know what or how to make it work.

Could someone please explain the process…..

Normally, Most solar systems will not have enough electrical output to run an A/C and they will have to have a lot of battery's and a big invertor. Some generators might but they would have to be a big one. You might want to consult with an rv electrician on how to size a system to do this. It can be expensive.

If your generator is 3500 watts or larger it would run 1 air conditioner. maybe you can reach out to who you bought it from to see if things are working correctly. I cant tell how to make it work because i dont have your model of camper. I hope you get things working, I know it can be frustrating.

Hi Shana,
I only had generators on my motor homes, but if it’s a factory install, you should only need to start it and then turn on the a/c.
Is yours factory installed?
