Well, we have no choice but to put the Grand Design Reflection 337 on our short list. We have looked for used Grand Designs and they just are not out there used. This means nobody sells them! We currently have a Jayco Eagle travel trailer that has been good to us, but we want a king bed and a cleaner design. We really like the Solitude models, but they are a bit out of reach at the present time. Maybe after the kids are gone we will step up again. Now I have to dig into the forums.

I too moved from the JAYCO fold to the Grand Design group. I thought I would never own another RV that wasn't JAYCO but the GDRV won me over with the quality and layout. I was very pleased at the trade in amount my JAYCO brought, and was very surprised at how negotiable my dealer was for the GDRV. Don't be shy about making a low ball offer, just be prepared when they take it.

Welcome to the forum Bigiron! I think you will find from your search through the pages and pages here, that the overwhelming majority of owners are very happy with their decision to buy a Grand Design product. You can't beat the Customer Service.

Have you been able to see a 337 with the king bed? It's a little tight on either side and you lose the small bedside shelves...the reasons we stuck with the queen.

Dave

We have not seen one yet with the king. From pics we have seen it does look tight, but maybe not a big issue. I am 6'5 and a queen just doesn't work for me. We are also looking at the Solitude 320x and the bathroom door is a pocket next to the bed, so this might be an alternative since both the Solitude and Reflection have the floor plan we want. We have a local dealer that has both in stock, but not with the king bed, but at least that is a start.

I agree, and that is one main reason why I am looking hard at the GD. Plus it is nice to know they make only a few models and not the hundreds the big guys make. I think the quality at a similar price point will make the GD win every time. Plus I just cannot see anything bad about them on the net.

We have been pleased with our Jayco and it has operated without flaw, but it's time to move up. Hopefully we can work a great trade and move into a GD.

Welcome to the forum, Bigiron. We too moved up from a Jayco that we had 6 great years with, a TT. We love our 337RLS! 11 months in and as excited as the first time every time we're in it. Good luck with your decision.

Know that the king size mattress sits on a queen base so the mattress overhangs each side 6 inches. You lose the side tables and that space becomes air below the mattress. And there is an upcharge. Air is expensive ;)

We had king bed as a priority when we were looking, because of height and room for a bed hugging canine, but the king and queen are the same length, and the king only 10 inches bigger. We went with the queen and it seems bigger somehow than the queen we had in our last trailer and the extra walking and bedside table room is nice. We are happy with the queen.

Us too..We had a king bed in our Cardinal, but thought losing the side tables and room between bed and walls was not worth the extra bed space. Hopefully we will like the queen - our R Pod and our Truck Camper had queens and we survived!

The queen in our Jayco was a "Camper Queen" only 72" long. The Queen in our GDRV is a full queen 80" long.
