Hello Everyone,

My wife and I just purchased our new trailer and are going to pick it up on Friday. I have two questions if anyone has input.

First: The dealer I am purchasing it from only sells Husky hitches. They recommend the Centerline, does anyone have any input for this WD hitch?

Second: They offer Xtraride extended warranty. Is the warranty something new trailer owners should buy?

Thank you for your input.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new trailer! I'm not familiar with either of those hitches, but as for the extended warranty, we purchased on with our fifth wheel. It was probably a mistake buying it because I can fix most anything myself. However, if one of the high dollar items fails such as an AC or refrigerator, it would be nice to have. If I did the cost benefit calculation, it's probably a losing deal. If the extended warranty was $1500, and you had to replace one major item over the life of the trailer (before your trade it in), would it pay for itself?

Thank you for your fast response. I am normally anti-warranty, but I am only considering it because it's a house on wheels and I am not sure how durable things are.

I would agree with Jim on this.

I normally don't buy extended warranties either, but there are a number of expensive components that quickly run out of warranty coverage. I figured that I paid less for the extended warranty than any two of fridge/AC/furnace/water heater/etc.

If all they sell are the Husky hitches, the Centerline is the best that Husky makes.

In regards to extended warranty, it could depend on all the details. I'd caution you to find out about the insurance underwriter and their track record. The extended warranty won't be much good if they're not around.

I echo Dave's response, I have not heard of that company. I have heard horror stories of people trying to use their extended warranty to find out they don't exist. On our first TT we were talked into a 7 year warranty for $1,600 by the refrig example. 6 years in and 1 month from our Reflection arriving our fridge died. $1,574 bill I didn't have to pay. Just when I thought I had wasted my $! And when we traded it in we received a prorated refund on warranty for unused portion, even after they paid the claim! We bought the extended warranty again on our new Reflection.

Thanks for all the input. I am going to go with a Husky Centerline.
