We're replacing the "Thomas Payne Seismic Series RV Theater Seating Recliners". The old ones lasted about 15 months total use before the vinyl started peeling off. What a shame.

Is there a market for these old recliners. They'll need recovered before they can be used. It seems the mechanical pedestal should have some value. I looked on Facebook Marketplace. There's so many recliners listed I would imagine it would be difficult to sell this pair for even $50.

For those interested: We're replacing with this:
Color: SHIITAKE BRISA ULTRALEATHER

thanks,
Dustin

Stick em out front of your house with a FREE sign on them. They may be gone fast or if not load em up and take them to the nearest dump.

That's what we do with old furniture that's still usable. It's typically gone within an hour around here.

About time to start a class action law suit against G&D and Thomas Payne Ours was covered from day one lasted less than a year

Sometimes a local upholsterer (working out of their home) will refurbish free items and put them up for sale for extra income. If you know anyone, maybe reach out and see if they want them?

Hi Dustin, Looking at your choice of replacements and I hope you're not committed to that Amish purchase...??

Reason being, I just replaced all my Payne ITA peeling furniture ....
but I wind up buying from Rec Pro.

You're paying more than twice what Rec Pro charges for the same items as I purchased.
Actually, I bought online on Black Friday and save an extra 13% but you. An still save 5% off web prices now.
Check out their wevsite explaining warranty (same) but, they do the abrasion tests to verify wear as well as hydrolysis analyisis to compare, apples to apples.

I'm actually using it in my home office, to anaylze it until I move it into RV this spring.
So far, so good !
I also got the sleeper sofa and one booth dinette.
The sleeper comes with a Bamboo gel foam mattress that I would love to sleep on as a guest.
Very pleased with their customer service as well.
Worth considering...seriously!!

Better yet, put a "For Sale" sign them and someone will steal them before sunrise!

I wish I would have known about either of the websites mentioned above. Our Seismic recliners also started pealing. I found them on Amazon and saw they have a 5-year warranty. So, I went to Lippert and at first they said okay, we’ll replace. Next call from them was since they were not purchased after I bought the RV, I only have a one year warranty. I was persistent with them about this was not right and they finally agreed to give me a 55% discount. One problem, they didn’t make the recliners in the color or the 2 recliner with the middle console that would fit in the without blocking a portion of the steps. So, we now only have the 2 recliners without the middle console. Lippert was not very customer oriented. I think they have their hands in a lot of parts and think they can try to over on us.

IMO there is no comparrison in quality between rec pro that is made in china vs Lambright made in the US (IN). A more accurate comparrison would be Rec Pro and Lippert furniture.

We have seen both and Lambright is quality and worth the cost if you are going to keep the trailer for several years. Very customizable with so many fabrics to pick from and can even add extra back support if it's needed. If we hadn't come across a like new residential leather reclining love seat for almost nothing a few years ago we were going to custom order Lambright in the spring.

Any thing other than "Top Grain Leather is just another name for ground up leather that is sprayed on with some adhesive. Wheather for your home, or RV it WILL suffer the same fate....Faster in an RV as it is a more extreme enviroment. There are many names for this terrible product. Do not be fooled.
I have had great service on 3 RVs since 1993 that had fabric upholstery.

I tried giving ours away on FB marketplace, after several "I'll take it" no shows, I put them out for trash pick up.

The seismic series has a 5 year warranty on peeling material if you installed the theater seating aftermarket and your RV didn't come from the factory installed. We had the same installed after we purchased our RV. Had a peeling issue on the headrest of one of the recliners. Lippert replaced the entire recliner free, including shipping. We had the theater seating about 3 years. Might be worth checking with Lippert?

So, I've been a carpenter/ cabinetmaker and furniture builder for 40 years AND I've owned both Lippert and now, Rec Pro.
I would think you'd have to actually own one, to comment on one, but you're entitled to your opinion, of course.

First, Rec Pro uses Leggett and Platt mechanisms which are industry leading mechanisms.
I've examined both of their constructs and Lippert does not compare with the quality of their structural design.
Second, no matter what you fabricate the frames from, if you don't cover it with real leather, it won't last as long as the frames anyway, so it seems cost-effective to me to save the 50 %
(plus shipping costs.) !!
Just my opinion.

We replaced our peeling TP reclining loveseat about 1.5 years ago with a RecPro Charles 58" reclining loveseat. It is holding up beautifully so far and hubby finds it more comfortable than the TP one. We were going to go with a cloth one but after getting samples of the materials, we went with the Ultrafabrics. Highly recommend getting the samples as the colors and fabrics were much different than what they appeared online. It is so comfy. For the sleeper sofa, it was still in good condition so we put it on Craigslist and sold it for $100 to someone moving into a new place who needed something for her office. She actually came and got it instead of being a no show. Replaced it with a bench leaving room for our dogs bed and an end table to store stuff in. Love the new combination.

When we couldn't stand how badly the Thomas Payne stuff was peeling, we had it recovered. With fabric. Yes, the cost was about the same to recover as it would have been to purchase something new, but we knew the recliner/sofa that came with the rig fit in the space and (in our opinions) was most likely lighter in weight.

We've very happy with the outcome.

Very Nice! Looks really nice!! We actually looked into having someone reupholster ours, but they were not interested. Wish we could find someone, as there is absolutely nothing wrong with the mechanisms, or any other part of our recliner, except the horrible peeling.

The guy we had do ours does a lot of motorhome/RV furniture. We had a recommendation from someone in our RV group for him.
