Greetings,

Just a quick introduction. David and Connie Vander Wall. We just purchased the very last 2021 Reflection 303RLS that Grand Design produced before starting up the 2022's. We are thrilled to have snagged this last unit and are out on our first camping run since driving the rig off the lot on July 1. We've learned just how desirable the Grand Design units are and feel very lucky to have gotten one on first attempt. We're very pleased with everything so far and trying out all of the features.

One thing we are wondering about, has anyone had trouble latching the door? When using the auto-leveling, seems like it is not quite level and wondering if there's a way to re-calibrate the leveling and whether that might be making the door difficult to latch? If anyone has information they can share, it would be appreciated! We've tried adjusting the level manually a bit, which seems to help somewhat, but the door is really hard to latch shut for some reason. Hoping to find an answer for that issue. Don't want to manually adjust too much. I'm sure it's something we're not doing just right.

Anyway, looking forward to a full season of camping. Our prior rig was a 2005 Georgie Boy Pursuit motor home that we bought new and used for 16 years. When we sprung a leak in the toilet fill valve on our first outing with the Motor Home this year, we decided it was time to make a switch. We decided a few years back that we were going to eventually move from motor homing to a fifth wheel, and so I bought a new F250 a few years back in preparation. We didn't want the F350 dually, even though we'd be limited on weight for what we could pull, but we find the 303RLS to be just perfect for our needs, and the truck pulls it like a breeze. We're gonna camp as often as we can this summer. I'll probably fully retire in two or three years, then we'll be out a lot more.

Congrats on your new rig! We bought our 303RLS in February and pull it with a 2013 Ford F-250 diesel. Pulls like a charm. Our entry door takes a bit to close. A sturdy push. It doesn’t swing open, which I like. I don’t always latch it to stay open and the wind doesn’t slam it shut. I don’t know if it was designed that way, but it works. I guess time will tell if we are damaging the door opener by having to apply force to close the door

Thank you! I feel like I need to pull really hard on the latch and kind of lift up on it to get the door to latch. My wife can get it done better than I can (lol). Outside push to latch is workable. It's inside trying to close it that I don't have enough purchase to close the door and latch. Maybe a suction handle on the door??

Thanks again.

Welcome, we have had our 303 for 4 years now and still love it. We had the same issue with the door and had it adjusted at the Northern California rally in 2017 and has worked great since then. Enjoy your new 303 and don’t wait too long to retire, I retired in March this year about a year earlier than planned and it’s been great.

There is a process to recalibrate the auto-level. I don’t have it with me, but I think that it is the Reflection owner’s manual. If you don’t find it there, do a search on this site, and I believe that it has been posted here, as well.

Good luck, we really enjoy our 303.

Welcome dvanderwall! The 303 is one the Grand Designs most popular floor plans and there are a lot of 303 owners here. Ours has been very trouble free and we love it!

Enjoy making memories!

Zero Point Leveling / Auto Level Recalibration

Last two reflections i ran into had incorrect info in the manual. Here is a youtube that shows how to do it.

Waiting our 2022 303RLS

We are waiting on our 2022 Reflection 303RLS that should come off the line next week. Very excited! It will be our 3rd Grand Design product but our first fifth wheel. Let the adventures begin!

Have a 2022 Reflection 303RLS held by dealer. It is finishing at the factory and headed to Lubbock, Tx. Supposed to get there the middle of November. Also just ordered a new Ford F250 SD with Short bed (6.75') to pull the 303. This is our first trailer and by buying up, we hoped to limit the number of 5ers we go through. Love the quality of the GD line and can't wait to hit the road. Wife retiring in May and I next December but my PTO will help me finish my time in October 2022.
