My unit has a mini blind over the cooktop, topped by what feels like a fabric valance. Seems like an ugly mess waiting to happen. Or an excuse to make my hubby do all the cooking outside! Can that thing be Scotch Guarded? Protected in some other way? I really don't want to ruin it.

There is a similar setup in our Solitude. We've been full-time in it for a hear and a half, now, and haven't had any issues. We don't use the stove top for a bunch of messy stuff, and we don't fry anything. We always put the accordion blind up when cooking. We use the convection/microwave and an Instant Pot Mini for a lot of things.

Same here, the accordion blind is up when we cook but I also do a lot of the cooking outside. Ours appears to be some type of fabric so you might be able to scotchgard it.

Another sign or proof that the people that design the trailers do not use them in the real world. Would they put a window with fabric on it behind the stove in a house..not likely. Cooking in the RV is no different.

We don't cook much inside and never fry or cook anything greasy on the stovetop. The thought of trying to clean greasy textured wallpaper sounds like no fun. Like Rob we use the Foodi more than the stove when cooking inside.

Just this past weekend I was commenting to Mrs skreef about how stupid it was putting a mini blind over the stove top.

We mostly cook outside.
