Here's an update on the PDI, the shopping trip for the RV and the trip home. First of let me remind you that this is a 250 mile trip for us. We were on the road at 4:30am. The trip there was uneven tuff and took about 4.5hrs. So the PDI started around 9 the guy that did it was very knowledgable and took his time and was able to answer all of our questions and pointed out things that we didn't know to even ask about. We ran into 3 minor issues that were fixed right on the spot. Outside window seal, window shade, and a slight adjustment on one of the slide outs. They also had to add the 7 way connector to the bed of the truck and wile they did this they also adjusted the ride hight of the hitch. We were very happy with how the whole thing went, all the people we came in contact with we're friendly professional and helpful. They were also respectful of our time as we told them that we wanted to spend as much time traveling during daylight as possible.
Next we went to their store which is at another location and bought all the stuff we could think of that one might need for a trip. Let me just say that the back seat of our crew cab was full. I have to mention that the dealer gave us store credit instead of a bunch of low end start up stuff. This was also a good experience p, but then buying stuff for a hobby is always fun. In case anyone is wondering the name of the place is Trailer Hitch RV Center in Nipomo. I would recommend them to anyone.
Our trip home went pretty smooth, those of you familiar with the central cost might be familiar with the Questa grade, this ii one of the steepest, longest stretches of freeway in California, this is the only part of the trip that the truck had any difficulty we took the grade at about 35mph but after that it was smooth sailing 55-60mph all the way. We actually saw a Solitude headed in the opposite direction to Pismo I'm sure.
My wife and I are looking forward to many years of traveling this great country and hopefully we'll run into some of you guys along the way.
