Hello All,

Me and my wife purchased a 2025 Grand Design 16BL recently. I'm trying to find a good bug mesh for the vents. I looked and looked and there are so many options it was a little overwhleming.

Does anyone have a 16BL with recommendation what works for them?

Hi and Welcome! the screen on the vents does a pretty good job keeping the bug out. More come through the door or the little slider for the screen handle if forgotten to close.
We keep one of those fruit fly catchers going and what comes in gets stuck eventually

I have heard in this forum that furnace, refer efficiency is affected by the screens restricting air flow. So i would check into it before using screens.

I use the same screens from Amazon that Sounsailor linked to above, for my furnace. When researching, read somewhere that the screens should NOT be used when the furnace is operating. Good for travel, storage and seasons when not operating the furnace. I am hard pressed to believe there us that much air restriction from the screens, but seemed to recall someone even mentioned it could void your warranty for the furnace if you use the screens while operating the furnace, but I cannot recall who the “authority” was that mentioned it.

Unable to find a suitable sized screen for TWH, I instead use a 22”Hartz Ultra Guard dog flea collar bucked with its own buckle to make a loop and put it INSIDE the door of the TWH. It sits low behind the door and is out of the way of the exhaust and I guess it has enough insect repellant in that it keeps the bugs out. Read that suggestion somewhere too. Anecdotally, I can verify that it has worked for me so far. (Watch, and the next time I go to check my water heater it will be full of mud dobbers.)

My dealer (in Texas) had aftermarket mesh covers which he installed for me for about $30. They work fine and are worth the money.

I do believe that using a screen on "refer" ( are you meaning propane refrigerator ?)
might actually inhibit air flow enough (especially if clogged)
that is required to cool the evaporator fins from.heat build-up.

I, personally, don't think so, unless as you mention the screen is clogged up. The air flow is not exactly high speed, high volume, it's mostly medium volume, low speed as the fan/s are actually pretty tiny. I've never had an issue with any of our fridges and we've used the window screen on all of them.

When I mentioned I was looking at screens a friend with a motorhome said absolutely get them. He's had the nightmare of wasps flying in so is a firm believer of screens. Can't speak for everyone but the holes in ours are so big I honestly don't see them clogging up or causing any sort of restriction. We've had them on for over a year in lots of states and different campsites and there is (so far) no sign of any clogging. Furnace has worked famously with no problems with restriction. In regard to what to get, there seems to be billions of different brands so I just looked on Amazon for those with tons of reviews that were 4.5 or above. I had to modify the mounting clips on one of mine but I figure that's one of your normal RV ownership jobs. Good luck with the search and enjoy the new ride.
