Hi,
I just bought my first RV, not going to be traveling right now, I'm living in it. I've spoken with GD on a few things and afterward find that some of the info the tech gave me might not be accurate.

He told me there are 2 blue vent hoses for overflow underneath near the fresh water drain, however, I see only 1.

He also told me there were 2 - 39 gal grey water tanks, and in the manual it shows to empty them one at a time, however, there's only 1 valve handle so I'm not sure if there are two tanks - except that before I could get to sanitize the fresh water tank I took a shower with 3 - 5 gal buckets and the grey tank showed 2/3 full, and did start out empty. Big difference between 15 and 39 gals.

One thing I didn't ask him about was putting in less bright light bulbs. I tried turning one a few times and it felt like I was twisting wires and not unscrewing a cap, so twisted it back and googled. I can't ever seem to find anything specifically about Transcends, and everyone's different RV's they're unscrewing caps or popping off with screw drivers. I've had this for just over a week and kinda don't wanna start breaking things!

I may not be posting in the right place but if anyone has advice I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi and welcome, I moved your post to the Transcend section due to your questions. Hope you find the info you're looking for. I'm not a transcend owner so don't know the particulars on it. Enjoy the site

First off, welcome to the forum. Don't believe your tank indicators too literally, RV tank indicators are notoriously inaccurate. A water meter can be your friend, fill the tank using a meter and it will tell you how much has gone in. Your light bulbs are probably LED which don't usually screw in like conventional bulbs. Some have installed dimmers in their coaches to deal with the brightness issue.

WhittleBurner, Thank you, I did see in the 101 training that posts could be moved to the proper place, thank you for doing that, and I'll get more familiar with the site as I go :)

Thank you, I did read a LOT of comments over the last week about not trusting the indicators and to get a meter.

New questions I just thought of - should I trust the indicators for the grey and waste tanks?
And do you know if there are 2 grey tanks, or only 1?

I'm sure the lights are LED, I don't do well with too bright, and unfortunately there isn't a dimmer in this rv, that would be wonderful. I'm going to try to figure out how to pop off the covers without breaking them, and if dimmer LED lights exist or if that's something I'm making up in my own mind :) or maybe different color covers.

We have owned the same 265BH model as yours (2022) since new and have done much research and several modifications to make it better for us and our experiences. First, there are (2) grey tanks- one near the shower and one near the kitchen. If you look at the dump valve, there are (2) lines/pipes joining together for the grey; also, there are (2) sensors on the panel- (1) for each tank, because the bath tank usually fills quicker than the kitchen with multiple showers.

Many will say that sensors are not reliable, and after (2) years with our Transcend (our fist RV), ours are only reliable to the point of the sensors saying empty or full. I do regular maintenance on them, including back flushing, and am happy to know when they're full; you kinf of know their empty when you dump. :) Other than that, they don't work well.

As for the 'daylight' LED bulbs. We did this modification to make them a warmer color and have been very satisfied with it. It's not difficult other than cutting the film to fit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kTQb9wQXNY
He also has a video on installing dimmer switches https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bbqBcSsRZQ

Hope this helps.

wphamren thank you for the info and videos! Apologies for the delay, health issues, whine whine. I really like this guys youtube videos, great explanations and info.

I did get a meter for filing the fresh tank that someone recommended from amazon in another post, I've discovered that the issue with it is that if I fill before I run out of water I really don't know how much is going in :/ I keep an eye on the lights and if I don't overflow, which I have done twice, I stop when it show full. Just play it by ear.
