One detecter was chirping the low battery song so I replaced the 2 GD installed with the 10 yr battery type and added a 3rd to the garage/bedroom which never has had one. What was GD thinking not putting a smoke detector in an area with a bed ?
I'll be 76 next Sunday so I probably won't be the one replacing these.

Good idea.
I realized that in our camper, the bedroom was actually a CO2 detector and the living room was a smoke detector. They look similar so I assumed they were both smoke detectors. Probably makes sense though since our rig is only 26'. I left those in place and put a smoke detector in the storage bay which is under our bed, and houses all the off-grid equipment.

I think you meant CO & not CO2. I saw some of those in the 10 year battery style but I have a plug in with backup Nighthawk brand Ive had for years.

Ha! Yep, meant CO not CO2. Thanks for pointing that out. Must have had a buildup of CO2 due to lack of houseplants. :ROFLMAO:

I wasn't trying to be snide or anything other than pointing out there is a BIG difference in the 2 gases
