Guys

Just had a Superglide 2900 by Pullrite installed and when I drive without teh trailer attached it moves back and forth when I accelerate or brake. Is there an adjustment I need to do or just get a bungy cord?

I looked at it and I do not see anyway to lock it. I did a google search and some folks said they use a bungy cord OR there is some nylon pad adjustment???

Teamam,
This is how i made the adjustment. Also you can go to pullright Web site and download your owners manual.

. This adjustment will need to be made periodically. If you are experiencing a bump or “clunk” when starting or stopping,
or if the hitch is sliding up and down the way tubes when you are not hooked up to the trailer you can perform this
adjustment to reduce the noise and keep the hitch in the forward towing position when not trailering.
1. The Turntable Cam Arm Roller, {C3} needs to be kept snug against the rear edge of the of the Cam Slot (see below).
2. To adjust, loosen the Jam Nut located on the Threaded Stop Assembly {E}, under the Fifth Wheel Plate {A} (on the
side facing the front of your truck).
3. Adjusting the Threaded Stop Assembly’s hex-shaped plate, will remove excessive play from between the Plastic Wear
Plates and the Turntable Cam Arm Roller.
4. Turn the hex-shaped plate of the Threaded Stop Assembly by hand, adjusting incrementally, until resistance is felt
when pulling the Turntable Cam Arm Assembly into the angled Cam Slot. While holding the hex-shaped plate in
place, tighten the Jam Nut with a wrench.

The 2900 I had would slide back and forth occasionally, especially if I had recently lubed the slides with WD-40. What happens, or at least to the one I had, was the head would turn from the acceleration or deceleration which allows it to slide. I would put a block of wood behind the head so it couldn't move. If the head is straight it can't slide but once it turns a little it will allow it to move.

As stated above there's a fairly large nut that you might need to occasionally adjust but I think that only helps if it moves when starting and stopping and you'll hear a clunking noise. It's easy to see if it needs adjusting, just slide it all the way forward with the hitch head straight. If you pull backwards on it, it shouldn't move.

Thx so much, I have the manual for the 2900 and the Description Letters and Numbers do not correlate to yours listed. SORRY I REALLY appreciate your input I am not able to do, any more would would be great thx HODRLODR

THX HODRLODR really appreciate it. I am an absolute rookie and look to folks like you for advise. If you could tell me what I need to do using this manual you sent you have no idea how much I would appreciate it THX

It's a PDF file. You should be to click on it then scroll to page 12 and it will tell you how to adjust so your hitch won't move while traveling down the road, it worked for me. I hope it helps. Let me know if you can't open file

You needs to pull the two pins that hold the top plate (one pin on each side), and pull the top plate off. Once the top plate is off you'll see the Stop Assembly and the Assembly Jam Nut (see picture). It's basically an adjustable threaded bolt held tight by a locking jam nut. Loosen the jam nut, then unthread the bolt a full turn or two so that it provides interference to the cam as it turns and slides through the center position. You want a good strong interference, but not so much that you can't rotate and slide the cam by hand. Once set, tighten the jam nut and re-install the top plate.

Note: WATCH YOUR HANDS AND FINGERS! If the jaws are open and you trigger them accidentally with a stray finger you're going to be in pain!
