Shoot, that's not even a safe topic on some boards. When it comes to engine oil,,,,, I believe in using it.![]()
After being on this forum for a while, I concluded that was the goal.No jab, I’m over here LMAO at yours!
or whether it is even necessary. And which tire grease is best.

Really? Are you sure they're not RM170s? I couldn't find a RM130 anywhere.Current tires: Roadmaster RM130 215/75R17.5 H-rated.
Same with mine. I have tire covers I use when stored for >~week.Stored outside, but out of the sun. No cracks, treads are still good, no issues, buldges, or other concerns - they’re in great shape and hold air pressure like champs.
I concur with the latter point. The 4 year limit is pretty conservative, IMHO.I know some folks say replace at 4 years, regardless, and others say replace if warranted (cracking, tread wear, etc).
That is a net opinion. I've been perfectly happy with my Roadmaster RM170's so I didn't see a reason to change. If I do replace, everyone seems to agree the Saliuns are a solid choice, correct?
I stand corrected! RM170s yes, typo on that 1st post.Since I'm late to the party, I'll go back to the OP.

My Momentum's running gear is very similar to yours and I have RM170's with those specs as OEM.

I disagree with the "born on" date as starting the clock. Tire experts that I interfaced with (from Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone) several times per year all assured me that new tires stored in a temperature stable warehouse out of sunlight are very shelf stable.

When I got a puncture in one of my RM170s, I replaced it with the same sized RM272 as that seems to be the updated version. That tire now has 4k on it and it looks great. I'll replace my remaining RM170's with RM272s when they're needed.
I got the RM272 for $263 delivered to my door from WalMart. Discount Tire mounted it on the loose wheel for me. ("this side out" so the date code shows)

I do because I let my tires get old once and had a blowout and when I put the spare on, it blew out within 5 milesRelated question: Do y’all replace the spare when you buy new rubber?
I wondered the same because the last set I purchased were commercialI have about 18,000 miles on my Coopers, and they look great. Unless something happens, I don't see replacing them for several years, or more. Since they are considered commercial tires, wonder if that makes any difference compared to regular GY...etc
Not that I would do it myself, you can retread them.
Since all of the tires on my RV are on basically independent wheels and experience different conditions, I replace them based on their individual wear characteristics (tread depth, unusual wear, cracks, age, appearance).Related question: Do y’all replace the spare when you buy new rubber?
I’m not too worried about this year, so might keep a close eye on things and plan to change out next year, or mid-year ’25 if anything looks off.
